Like mock said though, its king of hard to pin point sacks Bc of the non contact but i dont think theres no denying significant improvement in pass pro. Run game was clogged though.
Could the run game clogging have more to do with defense though. I mean this defense is designed to not let you run up the middle right?
Starting 3 on D-Line are legit. On top of that, Alexis Johnson impressed me last night. I think he gives us a reliable rotation at NT.
Also, the bigger RBs were better though still not what we wantat running up the gut. Chandler has had some trouble when not given space to work with.
OL did well in pass protections.
Taylor started at CB
I thought JG missed 3 TDs on verts by over throwing.
McBride had his best day so far.
Sapp looked really good.
Coleman is gonna play a lot at RB.
You're the only that seems to be saying that JG did not have a good day. Can you explain why that is, please?
Had a chance to catch up with Richmond grad transfer Khwan Fore after his visit wrapped up.
Did not commit to the Vols but left feeling very good about Tennessee and how he would fit in. Loved Rick Barnes and the staff.
Doesn't have a firm timetable but would like to decide pretty quickly. At this point he's not sure he's making any more visits. The fact that he's considering shutting it down is obviously good news for the Vols.
He's originally from Huntsville, Ala. and told me that getting closer to home was something that was really attractive to him. Also, playing in the NCAA Tournament is a huge goal for him and he understandably thinks that Tennessee is a place where he could make that dream come true.
UAB is really pushing hard for him and he'd probably walk into a much bigger role there than in Knoxville, so that's one to watch. Georgia and Tom Crean are also pushing hard to get a visit.
Will have a full write up from the interview later this afternoon but those are the basics, think Tennessee made a really strong impression on him and put themselves in a good spot.
First of all, we are thin with depth at most positions, that being said:
1) our front 7 looks the part, Shy can be dominant inside.
2) we are being coached hard from warmups to the final whistle, communication has been stressed throughout spring ball, it is constant movement and very little standing around.
3) We hit several deep balls for big plays (Calloway, Palmer, Murphy)but the secondary had their moments as well. The D-line dominated most of the night as expected. Coaches are constantly on the guys to create turnovers.
Some vague player observations:
1) A Taylor is an elite athlete regardless of which side of the ball he is on, exploive and long.
2) Tuttle looks to be in great shape.
3) Theo Jackson has gotten bigger and is a good looking, long athlete.
4) Calloway looks explosive and created seperation.
5) Ty Chandler will have a breakout year of Oline can hold up any...great vision, ran w power and was decisive.
Attention to detail is stressed (loudly) by this staff, and the teaching aspect at all positions is extremely detailed.
Vague observations, but just a little info! GBO!
