You cited Jordan’s coach as an advantage? Maybe if Lebron doesn’t bail on his every few seasons, they enter that pantheon?

You’re making an assumption about what I said. You can go back and look, I merely pondered how his career might be different if he had a coach widely assumed to be great.

I wasn’t citing it as an advantage over Jordan because I’m fully aware in this hypothetical that James could be worse, equal or better. There are a plethora of outcomes to weigh.

So still, I’m not sure your point. Best I can guess is that you are trying to say Jackson, Pop and Riley are overrated in your mind or are at least comparable to coaches that have been with LeBron.

I don’t know how I can explain it any better. Maybe use the chicken egg analogy when it comes to “widely assumed great coaches” and great players? Are the coaches “great” because of the players? How many titles have your examples won WITHOUT a generational player? But no, I asked that in my original post and got you all confused. As far as the “advantage” thing, you seemed to indicate that JORDAN had that over Lebron. NM. Let your truth be yours. :hi:

Need to create a new thread for lebrin vs jordan talk

I'd like to thank bass for repeatedly trying to instigate this for a couple days then disappearing once it got going. Hahaha. I posted some interviews of shy and Phillips in here a few minutes ago. Haha.

No one said Lebron couldn't be a star in the 80's or 90's. At least I didn't. You obviously never saw Laimbeer play. He was tougher than Lebron. Not stronger, tougher. Trust me, Lebron would have avoided him as much as possible in a game.

What? I stated im a Pistons fan and watched almost every game they played. There’s a difference between nasty and tough. Bill was nasty. I also saw him try to fist fight Barkely and flailed his arms around like a little girl but then again that’s most NBA players.

Bill was also a 3 Point Shooting forward/center. Not exactly hard-core on the offensive end.

I don't think Bill's offense is part of this discussion though. And I think toughness is more about taking a punch than throwing one. You can have knockout power and not be tough enough to take a punch. I never saw bill back down from anybody. That's pretty tough if you ask me.

Hot take: KP and Shy both get drafted. At least that’s what I want to wish on them.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised by that. They both have the talent and potential. And they seem to be taking steps in developing.
