Really think some folks are overplaying how much talent this team has. I think some people think we have 9 or 10 win talent, and we don't IMO. We're middle of the road talent wise in this league with not much depth.

Middle of the pack could be anywhere from 5-8 wins. I really don’t think there is much if any different in a 7-5 sec team and a 5-7 sec team.

Middle of the pack in the SEC means about 7 wins.

IMO (unless we’re curse with the injury bug again), a good coach should get about that much out of this team. A great coach finds a way to either get to 8 wins or make one of those 7 wins be a pretty sizeable upset.

A coach who takes this team and misses a bowl probably never amounts to much as a HC.

If Pruitt goes 6-6 this year, which is my prediction, I'll still be firmly behind him. I have a confidence in where this program is going forward under his leadership that I haven't had in probably 10 years.

Next year is gonna be fun. I don't even understand why some folks feel the need to put a cap on this teams potential. We have no clue what we have. We have no clue how coaching will change things.

We also have no clue how hard our schedule really is.

All I know is we have a head coach that has historically turned around defenses fast. Caaant wait. I miss football.

Yeah I think a bowl should be the borderline expectation. 3 non conference cupcakes, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky need to be wins. We'll just need to find one more somewhere, and that should be doable.

I just meant roster wise. Kentucky won 7 and Florida won 4 last year. I think it’s safe to say who has the better overall roster between those two.

Gotcha. I guess I agree in that respect. UT was only 3 plays away from 7-5 last year I guess.

Roster wise there may not be much difference between 5-7 and 7-5, but it reflects a lot on coaching IMO.

Agree there. A good coach finds a way to win at least one toss up type of game (if not more and/or pull off an upset) most years IMO.

yep. this is where i'm at as well. you figure out of the USCe, MO, FL, and WVU games, that 6th or 7th win has to come from that group of 4.

Muschamp is an awful coach so even if SC roster is better than ours, it gets completely offset due to their coaching. I just wish it was in Neyland.

I don’t think Muschamp is a very good HC (though I do think he’s a pretty good fit in Columbia), but that game comes at the worst possible place and time for us this year. Would be a huge win if we pull it off.

Bingo!

Yeah fans went all in on the last two guys and won’t be as patient this time around.

I’m gonna try to keep everything in perspective as much as possible, but if we miss a bowl this year, I’ll probably be at least halfway off the Pruitt bus.

Maybe I’m unrealistic, but unless we get boned with injuries again, I just don’t think a good coach should miss a bowl with this team. Good coaches have done more with as much or less.

Even if we do miss a bowl, I’ll try to wait and see what Pruitt does recruiting and shows us in 2019, but if he can’t get to 8+ wins in 2 years, we’ll know he’s on borrowed time most likely.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm hopeful Pruitt is the answer but after three failed experiments, my blind allegiance is gone. I'm to the point of prove it to me.

I'm so with you, man. No idea why people get so beaten down and let it ruin their fandom. I mean, we only have so many Saturdays in the fall to watch our favorite teams. We have a new staff, new hope! I'm pumped to watch Pruitt's boys compete this fall. Sounds like at the very least they'll be fundamentally sound, tough SOB's out there, or they'll be on the bench. I'm ready to cheer for a team like that.

People already writing this season and/or Pruitt off really should rethink what they're doing here and maybe go find another hobby. This might not be a good fit. JMO

You said tonight (on radio) that in your opinion the season will be greatly impacted by 3 players:

Trey Smith
Chance Hall
K’Rojhn Calbert

TS is on pace and KC is getting better each day.

Chance Hall is the one I have real doubts about but Pruitt seems to think he will be back.

Having Smith, Calbert AND Hall would be incredible.

I don’t see Hall being a factor this year. But man it would be good.

Someone remind me what happened with Chance Hall? Was it just can't stay healthy? Knee, back, neck, what's the issue?
