Language is pretty broad. He would have to be publicly offered a job and REFUSE it to be in violation. Accepting a minuscule title isnt.
Actually, UT could challenge whether Butch has made "reasonable best efforts" to mitigate damages. Since he was willing to take an off-field internship position paying $35K, the argument could be made that he could have found a higher paying position. Butch's definition of "comparable position" broadens the options available. Clearly, UT is choosing not to escalate the issue, even though intent has been transparent.
I think you'd have a tough time finding a judge that would want to meddle to that degree. Could be wrong, though. It is a huge disparity in pay.
It's a simple contract dispute. Dooley found a job paying $600K in just a month and he had less experience than Butch Jones. If Butch was willing to take a $35K off-field internship, it's reasonable to conclude he could have found a job paying much more. Moot point, though. He chose not to and UT is going to let it slide. Chickens generally come home to roost.
If Brown is afraid to go on record predicting a top ten class, thats not a very good omen for Pruitts tenure. If we dont have Recruiting with this staff, Im not optimistic on what we else we have.
LA Vol has said that Bill has stated in the past that he doesn't want to be UT President. I actually think he's been a decent governor, I guess it's just guilt by association. I don't like how Jimmy operates at all.
I dont understand how thats not breach of contract. Hes supposed to try and find a comparable job. This isnt it and it doesnt appear hes tried.
