Currie saying in a text that Gundy pulled out “because of lousy academic commitment ;)”. Wonder what that means.

Oklahoma State’s practically Ivy League...and the alma mater of graduated laureate (and functionally illiterate) Dexter Manley. :)

Goes without saying.

Bahama John!! I knew it from day one.

Viva la Fulmer!

I was warned last summer by some KSU alums that he was a trash AD. I didn't want to believe it until midway through last season, but after that, I was basically sure he was going to make a bad hire.

To his credit, he managed to screw things up far beyond even my most dire prognostications.

Btw, for those interested, some more texts from Bahama John:

JHyams: Hey John, any updates on next coach?
JCurrie: Just finishing up paperwork with coach Brohm. Be announced this evening. You got exclusive.
JHyams: Thanks, John! Appreciate the info.
JCurrie: Hey, why don't you call ESPN and go ahead and get the PR train moving?
JHyams: Will do. Thanks again!

JCurrie: Dan?
DWolken: whats up, John?
JCurrie: Turn on ESPN and get ready to LOL

I cannot tell if this is blue font or not.

Shows how clueless Currie is. He thinks we cared what Dan Wolken had to say.

For real!!! Dan Wolken is a vol bashing vandy grad memphian stooge.

We don't give 2 $#!+s what he thinks.

Dan Wolken telling me it is a good hire is just the kind of thing that lets me know it was a crap hire.

And for all you Johnny Majors conspiracy theorists out there...

No, there's no evidence in Fulmer's emails about him pulling a coup.

I hereby propose a VNRF motion that the gathering phrase "Meet me at the Waffle House" shall be amended as follows:

"Meet me at the Waffle House at 9 am."

Do I hear a second?

I'll say this. Being a public employee isn't always gravy. Currie really messed the situation up, but I'm sure he was trying the best way he knew how. In the end, he lost his job for it. Emails from people like this are all too common for someone in the public eye, even if that public eye is a common, everyday job. Just one of the several this guy sent, and probably the tamest. Harsh, unproductive feedback like this is a waste of everyone's time. I'm not surprised though.
