Found this interesting...

Someone on Twitter (I didn’t fact check) looked up the star rankings for each player on All-SEC 1st & 2nd team....

Co-POY Grant Williams & Yante Maten were both ***

1st and 2nd team combined:
9- ***
5- ****
2- *****

I feel like that might be a product of having way more 3 stars in the conference, but I could be wrong

That's also because there are always going to be more 3* than 5*. There will never be more 5* than 3*. That being said that data can be misleading.

The percentage of a five star college player being drafted (who doesn’t suffer an injury or have legal trouble) is actually pretty high. There was an article on that a year or two ago.

This is undoubtedly one of the most foolish post that I have ever read on Volnation...and that is saying a mouthful! Coach of the year in 3 conferences, lock for hall of fame, won SEC regular season and someone (trying to avoid saying idiot) wants to question Barnes’ recruiting.

Yeah. This same stat gets thrown around every year at NFL draft time.

There's like 30 5* per year, 200 4* per year and about 500 3* per year. So of course there's more 3* guys getting drafted to the NFL.

31 awards there. 21 were 5*, 4* or top 150 3*.

So majority (21) of the awards are given to top 150 players. 15 of them to top 70 players.

What is also interesting though is that Tennessee has 3 of 10 given to unranked guys. Two of which are just sophomores. Impressive.

Truly successful basketball programs have consistently good recruiting and have a proven track record of putting talent into the NBA. Other than a handful of folks, our NBA presence is declining and our recruiting has been subpar at best.

We are not a mid major program. We are a storied basketball program with a lot of tradition. We should consistently be within the top 10-20 in recruiting rankings and also going to the NCAA tourney at least once every two years.

Barnes's tenure so far has been a popcorn fart in the wind so far.

Storied? Tradition? Tired terms for empty pompous brags. Let me ask some simple questions; How far have we gone toward a national title? How many times has the Vols been in the final four? We might be better off if we were a mid major right now; a few of those guys made to the big dance. So far, any Vol who has experienced the final four was a spectator.

I think your post is a wet fart with a tornado climbing up your back. I love the Vols too, but don't tout greatness when we haven't yet played on the same floor paint where the championship trophy is won. It kinda reminds me of the opening scene of Porky's. Yeah, that level of pathetic.
