That’s foolish.

Michigan State fans have a 7.5 hour drive to Bridgestone if they wanna watch their team, Dallas is a 16 hour drive...that’s the same thing as giving Tennessee the choice of Pittsburgh or Wichita, Kansas. Which do you think Vols would prefer? Which do you think would have more orange? Vols in Pittsburgh or Vols in Wichita?

Villanova, Virginia, Xavier, Kansas, Duke and Purdue are firmly in front of us even if we win the SECT imo...

That leaves...
North Carolina...most have as 2 seed, ACCT upcoming.
Michigan State...most have as a 3 seed, season over.
Auburn...most have as 2/3 seed, SECT upcoming.
Cincinnati...most have as 2/3 seed, AACT upcoming.
Michigan...most have as a 3 seed, season over.


Competing with Tennessee for a 2/3 seed...there’s a couple other teams that could get into the picture with a big run but for sake of discussion I’ll leave it at those. It would seem pretty unlikely that Tennessee won’t get at least a 3 seed, so at this point we are playing to try and in the top 3 of that list (Top 9 overall) and that would land us in a favorable location (most likely Nashville). Michigan and Michigan State’s seasons are done, so now we root against UNC, Auburn and Cincinnati.

There is a line 6-8 hours where most people won't drive over. Myself is 6 hours and i plan to fly. Dallas is WAY past my limit

That’s you...as someone who has done it and someone who has 2 brothers at UT planning to carpool if possible to see the Vols, Pittsburgh is much more plausible than Boise.

Im comparing apples to apples...you’re saying put Michigan State in Dallas instead of Nashville, that would be the same as putting Tennessee in Boise instead of Pittsburgh...that’s why.

However Dallas is closer than Boise, so of the places to the west Dallas would definitely be the most likely of any I would drive to...I drive 12 hours to CT twice a year, it doesn’t bother me.

Also, which do you think has more Vol fans within a 200 mile radius...Pittsburgh or Boise?

I have driven to Dallas before. I just think you have to draw the line of where you consider location to be an advantage. Imo Mich state in Nashville isn't an advantage at all for them.

So in that aspect sending Mich state to Nashville and tenn to Dallas accomplishes nothing.

All it does is reward the 6 seed in Kentucky

My guess is if you asked Michigan State fans if they preferred Nashville or Dallas about 90% would answer Nashville...same as Tennessee fans with Pittsburgh over Boise.

You don’t feel there would be any advantage of Tennessee playing in Pittsburgh rather than Boise, honestly?

No advantage at all for Pittsburg. Boise is hard to get too but compared to Dallas no difference is real advantage


Nashville has become such a destination city that all teams fans are going to love coming to Nashville

Most people are in this camp. But Boise is such a terrible place to get in and out of, that should be reserved for the last 2 4 seeds, or Nevada should they get high enough.

I agree about Boise but it's because of airport access.


My main point is there is very little difference for tenn attendance at Pitt or Dallas and the driving distance is substantial

There's actually a decent sized alumni chapter in Pittsburgh, and a large one in Cincy, which is close enough I'm sure there will be fans that travel.

I disagree 100%, I think you’d see a lot more orange in Pittsburgh than in Boise...and if you polled twitter or this website I think it’d be about 90% Pitt to Boise.
