Keller Chryst Signing to be announced in the morning per

Day 1 starter.

We needed this cat horribly and if you dont think he's a massive upgrade to what we have you need to go to the Lady Vols forum and give up talking football.

He is indeed an upgrade over what we have for sure...Kid has a great arm and is smart but he does tend to hold on to the ball a little long sometimes and can't run a lick...But he isn't built for that..Hopefully our offensive line gets better because they will need to block for him in order for him to pick apart defenses...That gets done and he will have a great season.

Anyone with eyes see they are both pro style qbs that can move.

Sam Darnold was a Dual threat and Dobbs was a pro style using the same sites.

But you wouldn’t say he’s a dual threat like it says.. but you say he’s a pro that can run.. not a dual that can throw ?? Interesting take K town very interesting

How is that interesting? He is clearly more of a pocket qb/ pro style than runner.

So you considered Dobbs a ps qb and not a dt?

So two guys who played worse than JG vs worse competition, and arriving in the fall are starting?

The agenda is never more apparent...

This guy is in the least a capable back-up that we don't have...

I'd be willing to bet he gets on the field bc of his head before his athletic ability...

I agree he would be a good backup. He is better than McBride or Shrout easily. I don't see him starting unless there is an injury to JG. JG is a better qb, younger, and will be here for the spring.

JG is not the better QB...he is more physically talented, in both our opinions...

But, he is lacking above the shoulder pads, imo...

We shall see...

Maybe. I for one one think it will either be Chryst or Shrout who wins the starting job. Probably Chryst, but if you have watched Shrout's highlights, he is pretty impressive. Can't like those interception numbers though.

Couldn’t disagree more. Love Shrout’s potential, but unless he proves to be a freshman phenom, he won’t be ready and will see a redshirt. Chryst is being brought in to strengthen our QB depth, provide competition and pretty much be a backup....to JG

I don't agree. I think Chryst will play and not wear a visor. He brings a lot...asides athleticism, that will benefit this team more on the field than off...

54% passer this year with 123 passer rating.

JG: 62% with a 128 passer rating.

This is an upgrade how?

A change of scenery can do wonders! Cryst may come in and ball out. No one really knows. He was a very sought after QB coming out of high school. But, so was JG.

im confused on why you keep saying this

JG 79 natl rank number 1 DUAL THREAT qb (recruiting profile)

Keller 51 natl rank number 3 PRO STYLE ( recruiting profile )

DUAL THREAT.. PRO STYLE.. see the difference

Josh Dobbs was considered a pro style qb coming out of high school.....10th rated pro style qb by 247, 20th by Rivals. And anybody who watched Guarantano play last year can see that he’s a prostyle qb who wants to play from the pocket and that he’s clearly not a dual threat. They’re both pro style QBs imo.

I hope one of them proves to be the clear number one pick. Florida's situation the last few years must have been highly frustrating for their program, and I don't see our crop's skill level to be appreciably different from theirs at this point.

What are you basing this on? What do you call what Chryst is above the shoulder pads? JG obviously makes better reads going by the stats. Chryst is known as a big armed qb who has trouble with the mental aspects.

OH you mean that huge number touchdowns that JG threw? 4 btw

So, I suggest that bringing in another proven mediocrity (and actually mediocre with more time to show otherwise) really isn't an upgrade and you come back with a criticism of Guarantano's TDs. How does that make Chryst less mediocre? Why not go with interceptions? 2 for Guarantano, 4 for Chryst?

Anyhow, TDs and ints are figured into the quarterback rating I mentioned. That's why I mentioned it.

Personally, I'm hoping Shrout is the answer.

Dobbs ran to survive. I’ll take Chryst. I think when he starts will see a vast difference imo. I feel there is a difference in being a true drop back passer and just a fast qb who drops back because of play call. That’s just how I’ve always seen it at least.

Do be honest with you, have no earthly idea who our starting QB will be next season.

Has to be the best looking one. It’s the only way we’ll have a superstar, I’ve learned that recently.

For the record, I have no idea who will be the starter but I would put my money on whoever Pruitt decides gets the job this Fall.

From everything I’ve heard and read, he’s not comfortable with our lack of depth at the position more than anything else. Not that Chryst won’t come in and compete to start, but when asked pretty much every insider and media member who covers the program refers to Chryst as depth and competing vs McBride for depth rather than vs JG to start.

Do you have any links to that? Not being a d###, I just want to read/listen.
