TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

Hope Hicks interviewed today by the House committee.

She would not answer questions about anything at the WH. This would include the infamous meeting on AF1 during which Trump wrote up the phony statement on the meeting between Trump Jr. and the Russian agent, along with Kush and others, to collude with Russia on HRC.

Hope Mueller subpoenas her to the grand jury.

Ohhh... but so hot.

You oblivious read into it what you want. How could you miss that part of the article that I quoted? "She Refused"

"White House communications director Hope Hicks does not plan to answer some questions about her time in the Trump administration while she appears Tuesday behind closed doors before the House Intelligence Committee, according to a Republican on the panel.

"There are some questions that she's not going to answer. I think anything dealing with the administration, from the time of the inauguration," GOP Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah told reporters"

Where does it say that the questions where asked?

Not yet, if you read further in the article it says:

Stewart said that after about two hours, the panel had not yet begun to ask Hicks questions about the transition period —

she refused to answer any questions about events and conversations that occurred since Trump took office, according to a Republican lawmaker who was there during the proceedings.

Emerging from the meeting with Hicks, panel member Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) said that “there are some questions that she’s not going to answer,” adding that Hicks was not willing to detail anything from the inauguration forward.

Good.

You know she probably made an opening statement about what scope and time periods was open for questioning. I'm sure the D's will try but might get cut off by Nunes.

Can I get a witness?

Special counsel Robert Mueller moved Monday to dismiss more than 20 charges against former Trump campaign official Rick Gates, multiple outlets reported, after Gates pleaded guilty last week to conspiracy and lying.

The charges being dropped were brought against Gates in a court in Alexandria, Virginia, in keeping with the terms of his plea deal.

"The Office will move promptly to dismiss the remaining counts of the Indictment in this matter," the agreement says. "In addition, the Office will move promptly to dismiss without prejudice the charges brought against your client in the Eastern District of Virginia."

Kushner loses access to top-secret intelligence - POLITICO

Presidential son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner has had his security clearance downgraded — a move that will prevent him from viewing many of the sensitive documents to which he once had unfettered access.

Kushner is not alone. All White House aides working on the highest-level interim clearances — at the Top Secret/SCI-level — were informed in a memo sent Friday that their clearances would be downgraded to the Secret level, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.

Senior communications official Josh Raffel is leaving the White House. Raffel, a former Hollywood PR executive, was originally brought in early last year to run communications for the Office of American Innovation, but quickly became the point man internally for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Honest question. Do you want Trump to be guilty of Collusion?

Its not a subjective issue.

I think the evidence is sufficient to go to a jury on whether the Trump campaign attempted to collude. The June '16 meeting and Trump Jr's email concerning the subject matter are sufficient in my view to establish an intent to do so.

Trump himself? Right now, the evidence of that is 1) his comment that he was about to have info on her right after that meeting; 2) his constant calls at his stump speeches for the Russians and wikileaks to intervene to hurt HRC; and 3) his repeated efforts to assist the Russians in American foreign policy, such as a) changing the GOP platform on the Ukraine and b) failing to impose sanctions, as instructed by the Congress.

But why? I don't think its as transparent as just a quid pro quo as in, help me win, I'll be nice to you. Its going to be financial in nature.

Waiting to see what Mueller has on that. The fact that it is the focus on Manafort and Gates, and those guys were brought in to the campaign makes it very easy to believe that this angle was being worked on them, and on Trump too.

Time will tell.

(PS, in my view he is absolutely already guilty of obstruction. But that was not your question)
