First part: You said it. I quoted what you said. You are right, you made no sense.

Second part: Compassion about what? The dead kids? Pretty sure you won't find anybody on here that doesn't feel compassion for the dead kids and their families.

But what does that accomplish wrt solving the problem? It is more liberal diversion.

Why don't you sit down for a minute and be honest with yourself and decide if you truly in your heart of hearts believe a gun ban of ANY kind will stop the tragedies we see. The gun is the easy target.

The next one might have an AR15. It might have a 9mm Glock. It might be a pipe bomb. It might be a Molotov cocktail at a football game. But the one thing in common they will ALL have is the human being that decided to do the act. That is the problem that you liberals refuse to deal with, because you don't believe there is any inherent evil in men. It's sweet, but naive.

You have no idea how to deal with the mentally unstable or worse the dedicated 'jihadi' for lack of a better description.

I heard one speaker talk about hardening the target. THAT is the solution. Not taking away guns from people. Not melting them down. Not cash for guns. Harden the target. Open schools are a thing of the past. Or this will happen again, and again and again.

They don't have to be prisons either, but that will be the way it starts.

Not able to watch it but I'm glad to hear that. When he isn't being combative (unfortunately, that's most of the time), Trump is capable of being lucid.

I have a couple of questions though. What are these things accomplishing at this point in time other than to allow more airing of grief?

Secondly, schools are a local concern by and large. My property tax dollars go to a local school district for whatever it is that government schools waste money on. To my knowledge those schools are not funded by the .gov. It really doesn't matter though because the local government is vastly more responsible for the safety of the local children that the federal government is.

So what is the .gov supposed to do about this exactly?

From my perspective, this is all deflection from the real issues because NOTHING will come of any of this federal level publicity.

I think the positives that I took from the open forum were that POTUS openly and candidly communicated with people who have been personally effected with situations like, Florida, Colorado and Sandy Hook and asked them what we should do to make sure these situations at least happen at a smaller rate. It obviously remains to be seen if anything will come from it. Hopefully something will be done to reduce these horrible mass murders. However, there is no simple answer and I think it will be a very long process.

You don't have a constitutional right to chose what weapon you can buy. That is something entirely in the Government control. Always has been and always will be. You fear losing choice not your Constitutional rights. Get that through your thick skull. There has been nobody in this forum trying to take your rights.

From what coverage I saw of it I agree. The problem is his handlers who are beholden to the NRA and field the phone calls will shut him down.

Listening to Dems/Libs or MSM talking heads start saying things like AR-15s are weapons of war makes anything you say after that not to matter because its clear you know nothing about what your talking about.

If our military has to use the AR we are in a world of hurt.

Also when they say "Common Sense" seeing as they don't know anything about the subject they want to legislate immediately makes me stop listening.
