Weinke is in?

all fine well and good. now, i would tell you that some of this is at least misinformed.

if you go look at the defensive production before/after Pruitt at both GA and FSU, you might find more improvement than what you've noted here.

if you go look at what Helton was able to do with the passing game and QB's at WKU and at USC, you might find more definitive evidence of what kind of offensive mind he really is, and what kind of productivity he's trying to attain.

and if you go back and look at who was doing a lot of the recruiting at FSU, GA and Bama, you might find that Pruitt was one of the primary guys that brought in a lot of that talent he was fortunate enough to coach. and the ones he wasn't, love the guy. you saw who got the gatorade bath after the NT game, right? it wasn't Saban.

and i think if you read more around this whole message board, you also might find that there's a pretty decent # of people that understand, and recognize, the differences in what Kirby took over at UGA vs what Pruitt is taking over here. so while it's better imo than what CBJ took over, it's not even close to the same as what Kirby took over two years ago.

what it seems like to me, is that you've made your mind up, and you're not interested in seeing/reading/hearing anything that may be contrary to what you've already decided to think, regardless of the origin of that contrary information.

so, don't take my word for it...i'd tell you to go find out for yourself...that's what i did.

I’m not set in my ways and my mind can be changed. This is just my initial thoughts/reaction. I’m leaning more towards him being a failure than a success.

Trust me, I hope I’m wrong and if I am I will gladly admit it. I think it’s okay to be skeptical giving UT’s hiring track record.

well, ok, then...Ole Little Willie Weinke gonna make us a winning team...I'm so excited...I could just...:snoring:

PS. isn't i supposed to come before e, except after c...:)

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not in Weinke Land

was he a moron, or was it just so qb reliant, that absent a difference maker athletically like Dobbs, it just didn't work right in this league?

see i would argue that the butch system is fine.....for where it came from. it just doesn't work physically in this league, against defenses that can out quick you to the edges and out physical you up front.

the personnel decisions were questionable at best, and we'll never know if CRG was AK's biggest advocate and CBJ just didn't wanna hear it or if CRG was just a yes man, and went with the flow.

i feel confident in saying that if CRG did feel that strongly about AK getting more touches and reps, then he didn't do a very good job of forcing the issue with the OC or the Head coach.

To answer your question, yes he’s a moron. It’s moronic to continue to try to run something if you know it doesn’t work, and even more moronic if you can’t understand that it’s not working.

It’s also moronic to build an offense based around a dual threat QB, but the back up is a prototypical pocket passer.

revisionist history. everyone was excited about both of those kids when they signed here.

Exactly. Lotion stocks went through the roof when tweets of Hurd doing one-legged squats and running 25 MPH on the treadmill were sent out prior to his JR year.

Gillespie was grad assist for 1 yr before he got the So. Carolina RB coach job. He had obviously a ton of experience before that!

Why don't we let the staff hold the first official practice and at least coach the first game before we throw them all under the bus as being no good. Just a thought.

So you're one of the ones that's chosen to hold this staff accountable for the ills of the last ten years, despite never having coached a game yet, and in direct contradiction to what many have reported as a very good staff, and them being off to good start, all things considered. Ok.

Well that's the rub. He believed in every ounce of crap he shoveled here.

That's not moronic... that's arrogance and ignorance of your situation in the conference you competed in. By all rights, the infallible system was fine for Cincinnati and western Michigan....not Tennessee, and that problem has been rectified.

Umm I told you what I thought about the staff so...

And? I know that you have an opinion that's based on not much else than what you've decided to think.

I don't know, or believe, your opinion is all that well informed based on what you've posted here today.

This staff is boss...

Might very well be. Nothing happened yet to say otherwise.

Results will dictate. Always have, always will.

I think it's fine to be excited, while recognizing not everything is going to come together in 2018. I also don't think it's fair to dismiss this staff with basically zero evidence it's warranted.

And that’s your opinion. You think I’m uninformed and that’s fine. I can live with that.

According to nobody. The guy you’re responding to is just being a jackwagon. Pay him no mind.

I’m a jackwagon because I have a differing opinion? Cool.

I could be mistaken but weren’t you one of the guys talking bad about the b-ball team earlier this year?

Agree...this staff has some accolades, but the proof is in the pudding...

Been excited with change before, but this has a different feel...

Spoke with a former player that's still connected pretty well.He said the current players love Pruitt already.
