The most important part of a rb coach is working on blitz pick up. A qb would be good at understanding that, I think. JMO

I think CW will do a great job.

l love how people think think that if they're being contrary to something, that it entitles them to being the exact same way about something they take issue with, just because they're on the opposite side of the fence.

i do see some of that. people need to feel good about the goings on.

the reality is, CRG was a good coach. and he was a good recruiter.

he apparently was simply not a fit for what CJP wants to do going forward.

sometimes it's just as simple as that, and doesn't require a lot of thought or analytics to critique or to justify it.

Weinke may turn out to be a bust, but that's not going to translate in to "shoulda kept CRG". likewise, if Weinke is great, it doesn't mean CRG was garbage.

That’s the thing I’m not excited about anything with Pruitt or this staff, however, I am excited that Butch is gone.

What’s so great about Pruitt? He wasn’t even on anyone’s radar when the search started.

This is the VN way:
Recruit commits and he is the greatest player in the world
Recruit de-commits and he would have been a bust, didn’t want
Coach is hired and he is the next Saban
Coach leaves and it’s not a big deal because he sucked anyway

no, that's not the thing. i don't care if you're excited or not.

you guaranteed he's gone 4 years or less. with zero context.

so just like some may be excited over nothing, it would seem you're less than enthusiastic take is equally based on nothing.

bottom line, just because you're not excited, doesn't mean you're not doing the exact same thing as those that are. and yours is actually probably worse since you're willing to guarantee your stance.

i'm going to assume that since you felt compelled to question why someone might be excited, that you already have a good idea of why some are.

you have yet to give any reasons why you're not, why someone shouldn't be or why he's going to be fired in 4 years or less.

stay on point, after all, it is YOUR point being discussed.

Pruitt has had a while to evaluate CRG.
Weinke was on staff with Pruitt at Bama last year and he must have seen something he liked.

I will say that CRG likely didn't see this coming. I spoke to him just a few days ago.

The STL QBs looked terrible under Weinke, then they took a drastic step forward this season with their new staff. That does not spark much faith in Weinke to me, even though he will be coaching our RBs. Plus how tight are his connections to IMG? Those kids come all over the country to play there and they only care about winning. I honestly do not think his ties will help us that much on the recruiting trail.

so what you're contending is that CJP has hired a guy that a) can't do the job he's hired to do and b) can't help recruit the best players

that's a pretty key point in time, all things considered, as well.

did you forget the debacle of what happened Thanksgiving weekend until the date he was hired, or just ignoring it to push your own narrative?
