Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

It's because I do give the first **** for the victims and the families that I want us to do something. People like the NRA and those who continually thwart taking action on it are the ones who don't care.

As long as they can have their guns, they could not care less what happens to anyone else. Time for you to start weighing the consequences of that attitude with the theory behind it.

Do what? What can be done without infringing on the rights of the law abiding citizen? Something isn't an answer. Doing something is how we got the Patriot act.

And even if and when you do, you are not even touching the issue behind these shootings.

Come on, all 1st world countries have the same social media and pressures. There is one striking difference between the US and every other first world country. It's guns per capita...
Haha no point arguing with your type. Too hard headed. What is driving people to pull the trigger.

NO, the laws in TN aren't fine. Someone like her shouldn't be able to purchase a gun. Tougher controls are needed

What is the "like her" reason she should have had her right to own a gun revoked BEFORE this happened???

When the next one happens, I suggest you contact the parents of the dead students and ask them whether they feel that something should have been done after this one.

So what are we to do? Have another assault weapons ban? Because the one in place from 94-04 worked out real well......

For a lot of these kids it's the simple fact that their parents have shielded them from disappointment while young. Then instead of discipline they choose medication, so when the kid gets old enough to where mommy and daddy can't shield them from life they snap.

You’re misguided.

True. One shooting is too many.

The point being the term "school shooting" is way too subjective. I shoot a gun into the ground on school property and it's considered a "school shooting."

Common sense would and should dictate the term be more specific.

Banning more guns is not going to help, there are millions in circulation. Aside from widespread confiscation, which is a non-starter obviously, there isn't much to do to regulate firearms. You can go after the manufacturers, but the NRA is embedded like ticks in Republicans' pockets, so that isn't happening either.

Increased Fu and access for mental health services should be something everyone can agree on to start with, but the partisanship is so out of control that won't likely happen either.

This is a uniquely American issue, so we are doing something wrong.

I don't agree with the conclusion. I think it largely has to do with mental health and afflunece....just a theory. Does this stuff ever happen in poor schools?

The availability of guns is a problem, but not sure we are doing anything wrong. The genie is out of the bottle and no amount of laws is going to make guns unavailable.

You’re probably 50+ using IE on this website. Sorry you’re way off.

I have no idea what the bold means.

But I'm right. You don't see this in the poorer inner city schools or in third world counties with even easier access to guns. You want to talk about pressure, live having to worry about where your next meal is coming from.

This is pretty specific. Do you have any case studies?

No, they are not needed.

Sorry, but they are needed. If you don't have any issues, how is it bothering you to make society safer? Certain types of people shouldn't be able to purchase a gun under any circumstance. What about that bothers you?

Being an idiot isn't an excuse, but it seems to be yours
