'18 GA LB Quay Walker (UGA signee)

FWIW this is latest from AU Rivals. I know it contains other recruits, but decided to leave because a few are of interest to VN. My opinion on Walker right now is Vols.

“My best guess with one week left before Signing Day.

23. Commitments/signees - Auburn doesn’t have any drama here and signs its eight commitments.

24.Caleb Tannor- Georgia narrowly edged out Auburn in the summer, but with the Bulldogs no longer an option, Auburn signs another talented passrusher to go with Richard Jibunor. Tannor chooses Auburn over Florida on Signing Day.

25. Malik Langham - Alabama is the presumed favorite heading into the final weekend, but Langham will spend that weekend in Auburn. He'll also receive the royal treatment. Langham's childhood allegiance to the Tigers could be a big advantage for Auburn. I think it’s the difference in the end.

26. Quay Walker - Not many outside the city limits of Auburn believe Walker will sign with the Tigers. I live within those limits, though. Auburn has been a much bigger player for Walker than the outsiders think. Travis Williams and Rodney Garner both are key here. It also doesn’t hurt to have Walker’s friend and former teammate, Big Cat Bryant, on the roster. Georgia might pose the biggest threat to Auburn. Walker visits Athens this weekend.

Wildcard J’Marr Chase[/B] - Not sure what to make of Chase’s recruitment. LSU is extremely confident in its chances to sign Chase and I can understand why – he narrowed his options to LSU and Auburn without ever having visited Auburn. But Chase has been committed to Kansas and he’s been committed to Florida. He obviously isn’t opposed to leaving the state. Chase has a very strong bond with Kodi Burns, and I also think it helps Auburn that Burns and Chip Lindsey, at least in titles, are running the offense. LSU has a recent history of an anemic passing game and has turned to Steve Ensminger to fix it. Not a sexy hire. To top it off, Chase will be in Auburn this weekend on an official visit. I’m not ready to say Chase to Auburn, but I don’t think it’s as impossible as I once did.

My best guess on the rest:
Calvin Anderson - Texas
Richard Gouraige - Florida or Clemson
Caleb Johnson - Florida
Justyn Ross - Alabama
Dylan Wonnum - South Carolina
C.D. Daniels - UCF/Not Auburn
Cam Taylor - Nebraska/Louisville/Not Auburn”

There isn't a bigger group of homers on any premium board than the mods on the Auburn. There isn't a recruit on Earth they don't feel they aren't getting.

Hubbs is scaring me. He tried to warn us about Auburn a couple of weeks ago and now he is backing that up even more.

Keep in mind he also said we weren't getting Wood Anderson the day he signed with Tennessee and he's also gone and on about Peterson never being solid and being a potential flip. He's been very negative about all things Pruitt and recruiting since he was hired.

Yeah, that's not true.

Agree. As has been said by many on this forum, seems like anyone who’s paid for VQ the past 6-7 weeks has wasted their money. Predictions that these guys have made were the complete opposite of what ended up happening. I appreciate information they’ve brought in the past, but at this point their occupations are akin to a weatherman’s. No offense to any weathermen out there 😉

Austin's still be pretty solid but I wonder if Jesse is rubbing off on Brent. Because both those guys have been singing the same tune since Pruitt has been hired. Every commit they've gotten there is a "but" with a negative connotation coming from those two.

He’s probably Steele salty about the hire.

Yes it's absolutely true.

'18 AZ JUCO TE Dominick Anderson (UT signee)

Here's the thread. It's not in there. Simonton said he didn't think we'd pull it off early that morning. Price came back with "hearing Vols have some mo."

Hubbs hasn't been negative. The deal is because of the timing of our coaching hire and the early signing period we are recruiting pretty much all kids who are announcing on signing day so there's more drama.

Arguably the most important target left on the board, Walker continues to be relatively quiet as his recruitment winds down. That said, every other school trying – Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn – thinks Tennessee is at worst tied for first here, while no one can agree who the other top contender is. I’ve maintained for a while now that Tennessee’s combination of coaching relationships, JJ Peterson, and the allure of immediate playing time is going to win out. Tennessee appears to have a lot of momentum right now with a trip to Georgia upcoming, and Pruitt also will be going inhome with Walker tonight to try and extend that and create a lead that is insurmountable. Ideally Walker would commit tonight (and I don’t think that’s beyond the realm of possibility) and cancel the UGA trip. But worst case seems to be the Vols’ increasing their momentum heading into the weekend. Walker is UGA’s lone official visitor so they’ll no doubt roll out the red carpet and try to convince him to stay home and be the next Roquan Smith (a not-attractive proposition, mind you) so Tennessee will be sweating this one out for sure. What will be interesting to hear is how much commination Walker has with Vol coaches while on that visit – that could be a tell-tale sign as to how serious he is about UGA and whether or not Tennessee is indeed the true leader here

-Game day rock top

Atlanta Vol needs to make a trip to Walkers house and up the offer. :)

How did that work out for Gruden?

No he needs to stay home and watch on TV.

I don't want to hear the story that would be told if Walker came to UTK or did not.

Predicted that Walker or Pruitt would be gone in 3 yrs and for us to enjoy it. Odds he is correct....100% 50% or 0%.

Really don't need that drama.... Gruden Soon....0%

Peterson is a non-qualifier.
