hussein obama playing the race card

obama makes a lot of comments about how he doesn't look like the other presidents.

Obama just saying that is saying the obvious. That's why I'm sort of mystified by the claim that its "playing the race card."

Seems to me that what happened is that McCain's folks decided to pounce on something to make this claim and this was the first thing that came along decent enough to cry "Race card!" even though its pretty weak.

i agree that mccain's campaign is pretty weak, but i do think that obama has a lot of racial issues built up. if it wasn't such a big deal i don't think he would bring it up.

i do believe that attending a black separatist church for 20 years has seeded a lot of anger. hearing the comments that his wife made, his "former" pastor and seeing what type of people he's befriended. i just think he has some bottle up racial anger.

I think that's mostly just hope on your part.

Instead of focusing on Obama's supposed past, which I agree has a lot of misleading stories in it, why not attack his policies?

Do people really know what those are yet?

And...I'm including my PS from above in case you didn't see it..I edited it in after I posted the original message..PS: How's it been going Monterey? I saw where someone blew up an old navy ship in the Pacific last week...you didn't push the button did you? You still need to take me out for some demo some time....

the type of people he associates with, will be the type of people he'll assign and want to nominate to various positions in his administration.

i think that's as important as the policies he want to implement.

Today is nice this is the first week I dont have ash all over me. As for the Sink/Ex dont worry those hapen all the time, and I wasn't there for that one.

I'll still get you on one someday :)

I base my opinions on what each candidates web site states. My biggest concern is energy, more of it and less dependence. Obama's stance isn't very hopeful but McCain doesnt even list a stance on it?

Then maybe you should look again. The teams he has put together so far haven't been doing too shabby.

McCain's been on the campaign trail talking up energy and the economy this week...maybe you could catch a few of this week's speeches on youtube?

Are the fires in CA pretty close to you? I have to admit that my CA geography (outside of the San Francisco/Napa area) is really bad. Too bad you didn't get to sink that one..it looked like a fun time!

No, no, I was careful not to say McCain. My guess is that McCain himself wouldn't have paid this comment a second thought. McCain to me is actually being heavily controlled. My suspicion is that he goes home at night and shakes his head at some of what his campaign is doing in trying to be competitive.

I do think that those who support him -- or more accurately support the Republican party -- have a plan in mind, which is to try to make Obama seem like he's trading on his race. So, any time he even alludes to it, they get out the talking points memo that accuses Obama of playing off of being a racial victim.

There is a big difference between criticzing Obama because he's black (racist), versus criticizing Obama because he mentions all of the negatives of being black.

The focus of the Republican machine has shifted from racism in the form of Willie Horton ads to complaining that Obama is complaining about racism. If there's anything subtle racism hates more than a black person, its a black person who trades on being black.

So, whenever Obama even mentions it in passing, as was the case here, they are going to trot out the claim that Obama is playing the race victim card ... and thereby analogize him to Rev. Wright.

Speaking of which, see below:

You see the game plan? Don't be afraid of Obama because he's black. Be afraid of him because he knows he's black.

I don't know about the site at all but McCain's plan basically calls for drilling and developing alternative resources. We know there will come a time when we have to scrap oil based energy so it only makes sense to drill and refine while developing the next energy sources.

The Big Sur fire was really close. It blanketed this place in ash for a couple of days and made the weather overcast.

I generally disregard MSM or youtube, I want to see it plastered on their website. I have heard and like McCains stance for more nuclear power plants but I wonder if he is just pandering on that? Obama's stance is ok (more coal power plants), I'm not impressed but it wouldnt hurt either.

Yeah, but McCain just recently switched to that mantra. I kinda wonder if he sticks to it after the election?

mccain claims he wan't so many nuke plants by 2050 and he wants to drill. obama wants to tax oil companies and i'm assuming spend billions on wind power. i'm not sure how taxing oil companies more will lower gas prices. the oil companies will just pass that tax increase on to the consumer.

He did change his tune when prices went up. I probably would not have been for drilling with gas at $2.50 but at $4.00 I say drill. Any help at this point is welcome.

i'm talking about the people he'll put in places of power such as defense secretary, state. etc...

So you worry about what he will do after the election, like I am with both candidates. I honestly think it will be telling when we see who the VP picks are. The voting demographics wont change much, but it will be telling to see what these guys are planning on doing.
