Kahlil declares for draft

Bad news for us, but can understand why K Mac who leave, especially given his connections. Tuttle, despite his injuries, has shown great ability - NFL ability for sure. Not emotional about this decision at all. He did his time; has all the tools, .inus speed, to be a good DT at the next level.

Good luck to K.mac. I think hes going to surpise Vol fans at the next level, thouvh he still needs to focus on S&c to realize his potential. He will land on his feet even if he isnt drafted.

Wow!

He finally gets a good defensive coach to come in and help him and he gets out.....he's a typical dude that Fulmer labeled a long time ago....

Looks like Tarzan....but plays like JANE....

Wonder if the Raiders will sign him as a free agent????

Sad. You look at Payne and similar build to Kmac. Little question he would thrive under Pruitt.

Running back Leroy Thompson is the first one that comes to mind. Went to Penn State in 1987.

Leroy was a stud! That AE team was damn good! I was a freshman at BA and got to watch him in the Clinic Bowl. Him and Von Reaves on the same team Wow! They won 28-20 very impressive team.

Alriight, I did the D4H thing and pretended I was a professional scout.

I watched the Georgia Tech and Georgia games.

First of all, I didn’t see him get penetration once. Most of the time he was single blocked. He has absolutely no lateral quickness and doesn’t fire off on the snap of the ball. The o-line delivers the blow to him. He does not deliver the blow to the o-line. He doesn’t get off blocks very well either.

He did, by and large, hold his ground on numerous occasions, but did not effect the play. But, I didn’t see any play that was designed to go in a certain direction where the running back had to go somewhere it wasn’t designed because he disrupted the play.

Pass rush is non existent. Doesn’t push back his man into the pocket.

Based on what I was looking at, he needs to gain 60 pounds and turn into Gilbert Brown or Ted Washington to be of value to a team.

KMac if he gained 60 pounds

I thought this kid was the first guy picked in the 2018 draft when he was signed. Kongbo, Tuttle and Kmac all looked like Tarzan.

Well played. Who was the defensive player from knoxville that fans were desperate over? He signed but didn't do squat. Think he was a LB. Knox Webb maybe?

The late Daniel Brooks

No. There was a kid from the Knoxville area that fans went Cade Mayes over. Just had to sign him or the world as we knew it would end . Almost certain he was a defensive player. Dont think he played much at all. LB or maybe a DE?

Bernard Jackson

I hate Hooker, but he made a good point on Gridiron. By staying at Bama through the NC, Pruitt (and Sherrer with UGA) wasn't on campus to build a relationship or advise Kelly, Gaulden, or K-Mac on whether or not it was in their interest to turn pro.

I don’t blame Pruitt for staying with Bama through the NC, but KMac and Kelly leaving isn’t good for 2018. I think Chandler has more talent than Kelly, but he’s not a proven reliable back yet, while Tuttle is more injury prone than Khalil, and depth at DL is now another issue Pruitt will have to deal with in 2018 without KM, who (bust or not) is an experienced SEC tackle who has played well enough.

I don’t believe those kids were on campus either.

I had this exact throught this morning. I am a bit miffed at Jeremy for letting these three get away. Ridiculous really considering their draft stock right now vs. what it could be in a year (especially Gaulden and K-Mac.)

Whoa...hold up. Physical size is where the comparison between Payne and KMac begins and ends. Payne is a freak athlete, is quick and explosive. KMac....is not.

Would KMac benefit from a year under Pruitt and Rocker? Yes, no doubt. But no amount of coaching is gonna put KMac in the same stratosphere with Payne as an athlete and disruptive, dynamic DT.

I bet you he could have been working on building relationships with them. He should have spent 15 minutes a day talking to every single draft worthy Junior.

The lemmings will come after you.

Apparently the best thing for UT football was for our coach to be part time.

Please check and ensure that those three were even on campus during the 2 week period prior to the SB that he was not in Knoxville then get back to us. Kelly was most likely leaving at the end of last season. Stupid not to after what Kamara is doing. In his eyes, he can do the same thing. I am willing to bet that Gaulden got bad info or maybe talked to D4H (JMO) and KMac mostly like talked with daddy and daddy told him he was ready. He is the biggest mystery. This is just my opinion but my thoughts are CJP being gone over the holidays had nothing to do with these 3. I also think that CJP was in Knoxville after the Sugar Bowl for a day or so.

And you know for certain that he didn't? Oh that's right, no phone system in Tuscaloosa or Atlanta.

At the time of his hiring, CJP was the best thing for UT Football. Part of his coming here was that he be able to finish his job at Bama. Given that, you are saying that CJP should not have been hired and that we should have continued to look?

Why? In the grand scheme, it’s not a big deal losing any of the 3. It would’ve been nice to keep JK and RG, not really saying otherwise, but it’s not really gonna matter imho. And I just can’t in any way be upset with JP right now given how hard the guy has been working, doing two extremely taxing jobs, and being very successful at both. What he did with building his staff and taking a recruiting class in the 60s to #16 at the moment and only climbing up is just remarkable imo.

"Letting these three get away"? Do you know for a fact he hasn't talked to them?
