I'm a little late to the party. I'm sure this has been discussed, but why no love for Mac McClung out of Gate City, VA from Rick Barnes? I know he made an unofficial in the spring, but no scholarship offer. He ended up with a good commit outside of the SEC. It just doesn't make sense to me. His sister just graduated from UT and played soccer for women's team (#1 recruit in nation back in 2013) and their grandfather played football for the General himself. He would be a great addition to an otherwise "personality-lacking" basketball team and for sure a fan favorite.

ONE COMMENT: I know he is a short and that's an immediate concern, but he can hop out of the gym.

He's hard to evaluate because of the lack of competition that he plays against.

Siap, but who and when was the last official visitors we have had? I think we had some for the North Carolina game right? What did they think of game? Thanks in advance. :hi:

Quite a few 2019 guys, all unofficial, no official visitors.

DJ Burns
Marcus Watson
Jason Jitoboh
Kira Lewis

Those are the 4 biggest, all 4 have been here before and are guys his staff has spent some time with, Burns seems to be the biggest Vol lean at this point. All the quotes I saw were very complimentary and impressed by the atmosphere. 2018 5* Anfernee Simons is scheduled to officially visit for the upcoming Kentucky game.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but anfernee is visiting for the ky game on an OV

EDIT: didn’t read all of bto’s post. My bad.

Let me help you. He balled out in all the invitation camps and AAU. He also lit up the Arby's Classic. And he is committed to Patrick Ewing at Georgetown. Seems like he can play. Jordan played at Carter against the locals and is doing just fine. This kid would destroy the KIL.

Good for him man. Let him go have a great career at Georgetown. No spots here for him.

I see now. Ibwas thinking 19 class but would have to use the 18 scholly we have left. My bad. Simons is a must. What is your thoughts on landing him?

Seems like we’ve been here before...Yurtseven in 2017, Petrusev this fall, can this staff close the deal and land him? They’re in good shape right now, but Vols are using their OV early on, if we get into March without a commitment and he’s OV’ing other places that will be worrisome.

It sure seems like the roster is set up for an elite player to take the 2018 scholarship. I suppose that Barnes might prefer more than one year out of the class though. The only spot that shouldn't allow for 25-30 minutes of immediate playing time is the 4.

i'd prefer a 4 year 4 star over a one and done if we're placing orders.

Normally I'm in the same boat but next year we will have a lot of talent that should be playing on a high level at the same time. The starters should improve a little but the main difference will be our bench, particular our forwards.

I think we could win the SEC next year. The start of conference play has shown this team is still isn't ready but is maturing.
