Arkansas is about 70. I will say we all know it's a little skewed. We unfortunately are dealing with coaching search and getting kids this soon. February we will make up ground. Also alot of sites don't evaluate jucos as high. In our situation they are very necessary to plug holes.

I'd say, outside of pulling Mays back that we did about as well as we could. Could have gone a lot worse, and a lot of new names we've brought in and continue to pursue. Our guys have some juice and when get full staff on board we'll have another month of full lock down mode.

We're at 26 on 247, and 17 of 25 teams ahead of us have 20+ commits, and only UF w/ 15 and USC with 11 have less. With some of the guys we're chasing and yet to fill out, I think there's a good chance we land in the 12-15 range.

SMUs issue was cheating. Of course that's what got them there to begin with. Maybe Georgia has been lining some pockets.

Record-wise, yes. But there are a lot of factors that went into that. Overall, I don't think any knowledgeable fan would say we're worse-off now than we were then.

I would love to feel over the moon about this class -- or anything else about our program right now. But it's going to take a lot. This didn't quite do it.

Look I was disappointed over the hire of Pruitt when it first happened. After about 3 days o was over it and ready to support him. I think the situation we were in timewise no one in an "Honest and fair" way could have done better with what we got this far. I wanted Kiffin and he might have gotten a tad better class to this point but I can't be sure of that. Kirby Smart couldn't have done better here in 2 weeks without doing what he has done at Georgia obviously putting cash incentives on coming to Georgia.

To anyone talking about Kirby Smart putting cash incentives down for Georgia, we hired a coach holding the exact same position from the exact same school. I'd advise being a bit more cautious about taking that attitude when we went picking from the same coaching tree.

Agreed, Boise State went bowling again this year. They somehow find a way to play good football, beat teams the pundits say they shouldn't. They think they've had a great recruiting year if they get more than 2 or 3 four stars. We went 0fer in the SEC with two 5 stars on our DL one of which was rated as the #1 player in the country at one point.

Hopefully we can start playing Boise’s schedule then so we can go bowing too.

If we land JJ Peterson that would be game changer at OLB. Between us, Bama and Auburn. Hopefully the possibility of playing right away will give us the edge as opposed to him redshirting at the other places. And even then he may not play for another year possibly due to their depth on defense.

We’ve been ranked pretty high last few years and it didn’t work out so good. Maybe this is the way to go.

The total view of numbers with asteriks,(stars), beside them do not reflect the immeasurables which are numerous. It's good to have a degree of confidence in a coach who seems to know the type of players he wants, especially on defense. He's very close to Coach Friend so I'd guess he's more flexible with the offensive coaches and seeing their needs are met. But when it comes to "D" YOU CAN BET HE DA MAN!

I just read most of the posts in this thread and a very large % offered nothing but praise for the job Jeremy has done in such a short time. The ranking is meaningless to me also but you need to pinpoint who you are referring instead of randomly putting us all down, Super Vol Fan.

I gotta believe that while ratings are too generous on some players the lions share of the blame for underwhelming player performance lays at the feet of not teaching position technique at every position assuming they already know it, just get em a playbook. I think we're in better hands now especially in the position coaches.

A lot of it has to with our numbers. Last I looked we had a higher average star rating than any of the teams around us (by a pretty good margin) bc we only had a handful of commits comparatively.

We need to stop making excuses. The prior coach was able to sell the Tennessee name and pull in recruits and build enthusiasm from the very start. Call him a used car salesman if you wish - but he was able to do that.

There has been absolutely no energy and enthusiasm generated as of yet by the new staff. What we have heard is more negative than positive with many players having their offers pulled and being told to look elsewhere.

Yes there has been a flurry of offers to top players that were not offered before - but we all know that most of those will not pan out. IMO there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason in who is being offered. There isn't a vision.

The vision right now is to help Nick Saban secure his 5th National Championship at Alabama. The hope is that Pruitt will at least right the ship and have us competitive and an attractive destination job when he abandons us in 4 years to return to Bama as Saban's replacement. I think this is why some people were concerned when they heard he would be coaching them through the bowl games. Butch left this place a mess and as the HC your time should be 100% devoted to building 'your' program.
