I find myself to be not nearly as excited as a lot of my fellow Vols here. I think we did okay, but nothing to do cartwheels over -- just good enough to not be disappointed.
And everyone saying it was great considering the current state of the program? The program isn't in that bad a shape. We're doing a lot better now than we were in Butch's first year.
Not trying to be a party pooper. We can still finish strong and really get a stellar class. But we'll have to step it up to a higher level than we saw today.

4-8, winless in SEC play.
The program IS in that bad of shape. The worst it has EVER been.
While I agree, I'm not doing cartwheels, for two weeks work, he's done very well considering the dumpster fire Butch left, and the complete circus that Currie was.
We have to face facts, we are at the lowest point we have ever been. Let's hope it's rock bottom, because any lower and we may never recover.
Remember, at one time, teams like Vanderbilt, SMU, Arkansas, Texas, and Nebraska we're feared as perinnial powers. Arkansas, Texas, and Nebraska may well be there again. I doubt we will ever see Vandy or SMU considered a power ever again.

Agreed, Boise State went bowling again this year. They somehow find a way to play good football, beat teams the pundits say they shouldn't. They think they've had a great recruiting year if they get more than 2 or 3 four stars. We went 0fer in the SEC with two 5 stars on our DL one of which was rated as the #1 player in the country at one point.
What ya got going on here, eh?Geeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
You Brain Surgeons drive me crazy.
We went 0-8 in SEC with a Bunch of Stars in Butchies high rated recruiting classes. What did CBJ do with his top rated Blue Chip classes.
Recruiting services and rating services serve their pocket book and that's it.
I don't care where we are rated. I don't care how many blue chippers we have.
Our recruits need to get on campus. In class. In the weight room and start to work. You supposed VOL fanz will have plenty to b***h about later.
l don't know what you expected in 2 weeks after at month long cluster..........Get over it. Support them or move on.

We need to stop making excuses. The prior coach was able to sell the Tennessee name and pull in recruits and build enthusiasm from the very start. Call him a used car salesman if you wish - but he was able to do that.
There has been absolutely no energy and enthusiasm generated as of yet by the new staff. What we have heard is more negative than positive with many players having their offers pulled and being told to look elsewhere.
Yes there has been a flurry of offers to top players that were not offered before - but we all know that most of those will not pan out. IMO there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason in who is being offered. There isn't a vision.
What do you expect? We are a train wreck and our coach just walked in the door.
If we are 26th with just 12 signees, we should be top 15 by the time we get 20 signees.
Alontae Taylor hasn't signed yet either.
I expect 25-30 signees depending on early entry, JJ, etc.
