Who knew of this fella before his name was brought up...or even his job description? Are there many more out there who have the same job? Probably...and it's likely there are some who'd be more effective. I dunno. Do you? I'd suggest some of you might want to settle down about this "meltdown" business, at least until CJP's staff has been fully assembled. I'm going to remain positive until we've witnessed at least a couple of games in 2018. For those of you who've just got to pee-pee on everyone's Cheerios every time there's a turn of events in Big Orange Country, please just find some other bowls to yellow up.
Exactly. I would be willing to bet the vast majority of people on here had to google him. I know I did.
Doesn't mean he is not good at what he does or it's not important. Also it shows how unorganized athletic department is and why we have been struggling for so long.
With all the new positions that help a program run efficiently you may not know all the people behind scenes, but does not make position not important.
So what? You cannot get everyone you want. Sometimes you miss. At least they tried.
Lol, if with all that has gone on especially with this coach search, and this does not add to the incompetence shown I don't know what to say to show you proof of incompetence of this administration!!! He (Austin Thomas) wanted to come here yet they some how can not get their ducks in a row to make it happen?!! LSU wanted to keep him it's not like he was not good at what he does and so we should not have wanted him... and they did want him, yet here we are...
A very surface level response. You have no clue about his demands or what UT's position was. What if he wanted a million dollars a year? By no means am I saying he was. Just pointing out the belief we crapped the bed is wild speculation.
No, because he already resigned at LSU, and was already letting media know he was hired. So yes it would at least be very likely UT did not know what he did at LSU and tell him what they wanted or altered after he resigned what they wanted of him.

Agreed. He may have been the best recruiter on the staff. I think this deal not getting done is another sign of the dumpster fire our athletic department is. They knew what his role was at LSU. There's no reason this deal shouldn't have been done. If they didn't want him in a similar role to what he did at LSU, they shouldn't have wasted his time.
I got a Bad Feeling Fulmer is the Football Coach & Pruitt is his Lackey Yes Man- If True this will make the Butch Jones Era look like the Golden Age of Tennessee Football...
