'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Why would you want to go play somewhere never to be heard from again?....Example: see Tee Martin son.

Versus, playing in your own backyard where everyone you've known your entire life watches you every Saturday.

Rumor is Trey told him he was going against him everyday in circle of life next year. He decided to go to Clemson.

Not really but could be.

Guys here’s the real story you won’t get from local media.....

Much like Butch’s foresight when he had JJ Watt as an OT, Butch was the only coach who wanted Cade to pull double duty and return punts as well as play OT. Once that dream was squashed, Cade was upset and locked himself in his bedroom for 3 days before decommitting. After his mommy promised to make him his favorite breakfast on that 4th day, he finally came out. It was then that Dabo called and said Cade could play anything he wants to at Clemson, even QB. Trevor Lawrence would only run the wildcat part time if Cade wanted to be the primary QB. Dabo also promised to take Cade out for ice cream after every game. Cade stomped his feet and cheered in excitement. When Phil and Pruitt met him at his school, rumors of the 4 hour visit were skewed as Cade was in the middle of nap time. After 2 hours of waiting he woke up to visit with them. It got off on the wrong foot when Pruitt attempted to shake Cade’s hand instead of high fiving Cade followed by low fiving Cade as Dabo does. Also, Phil and Pruitt had brought no “surprise” for Cade as Dabo had always done. Cade also learned there would be no nap time at UT as Dabo promised at Clemson. So after talking about everything, Cade simply folded his arms together and kept yelling “No! No!” repeatedly until Fulmer and JP left. Cade’s mom asked him to draw a picture of where he wanted to go to college and Cade drew a tiger and a stick person with the letters D — A — (backwards) B — O.

Sounds like a guy who needs to stay close to home. Suggest that Cade study the safety from Murfreesboro Oakland who went to LSU last year. He about to be All Vol.

People where ever he plays will know who he is. And if he excels the people that need to know (NFL scouts) will know him.

My gut on all of this is that something happened that soured him on UT and he has decided he’s going anywhere but here. I feel like something happened that hurt his feelings/pride and now he’s not even open to returning.

I also get the feeling based on his behavior that he’s a kid who never gets told no and has been spoiled so there’s nobody guiding him in his choice. He’s on his own in selecting a school.

I think you're right. A lot of nonsense has went on. I'd at least listen to Fulmer and Pruitt and then make a decision but idk everything that has went on. If he goes to Tennessee and sucks or gets hurt or whatever, he's still going to be taken care of. Fans are fickle and douchy but our program takes care of former players. Clemson I have no idea about. I think if he's going anywhere but Tennessee he made a good enough choice but to me it's just stupid and diva like to not even give Tennessee a chance. JMO I'm sure the kid is hearing plenty of them.

If he comes ok, if not, let him go. I hear that his teammates at Catholic are glad he’s leaving and a he’s complete jerk. Not saying that won’t change in college, but I’ve been told he’s not a team player. We’ve seen what cancers in the locker room can do. Also I know he doesn’t have to give maximum effort in high school because of his size. But having gone to a few games he also seems lazy on more than half the plays.

Funny, when he was coming here everyone loved his attitude and passed it as just having a mean streak. Now that he’s going to Clemson he’s overrated, a locker room cancer, selfish and a jerk. He’s gonna be a great player wish he was coming to the good guys
