Thanks for creating this...I stumbled fell down in the other threads...i thought i couldn't get back up...luckily you guys creating this thread is like a warm blanket on a cold night...Here's to acting naive and thinking pruitt won't ever leave the second saban retires...nothing like a captain bleeding bama red leading our ship....

It's only $300,000 more than Butch had. UT was already in the top 10 in assistant coaches.

We didn't need a bunch of new assistant coaches per se. We needed a closer and a name other coaches feared. Someone who could be recruit the back end, bring a system that scores points offensively, limits points defensively, and makes excellent personnel and game day decisions.

This is the same model we have been applying for the last 10 years and it hasn't worked.

And why I didn't comment, I just posted what news was floating around ...

Guess I'm in because there's really no place left to go. I'm bummed. Pruitt may, and I hope does, turn out to be an incredible winning coach at UT. I'm bummed because our leadership failed despite making significant changes in the heat of the battle. They failed to land a "headliner" despite UT being better positioned for a coach than at any time in school history. The money, fan base and facilities are all there. The old narrative of no in-state talent and being tough to recruit is simply incorrect now. Talent in state is vastly superior to in the past, and the budget is there for the right coach to fill out the class with talent from anywhere in the country. The only viable reason for UT not to land a big name is our leadership.

Pruitt certainly looks better than a whole lot of names we've heard in the last few weeks. I hope he surrounds himself with great coaches and wins big. But, until that appears to be the direction he's heading, I won't be scheduling my Saturdays around football. My free time is about the only thing I truly own, and I'll spend what little I have on something I can control.

Here's hoping I see that is his direction one Saturday in late October.

I really have no idea what to do with the time I used to spend on here. I accomplished so many errands and I still have an hour before the kids get home. Wow.

Well now, our third McGoogle Search coach in a row. What, possibly, could go wrong?

I'm underwhelmed and have little enthusiasm for this hire and looking into next year.

With Gruden we had at least the promise of exciting, winning football; the thrill of an energized fan base and the "I can't wait for Football Time in Tennessee", but now, as BB King sings in the background: "The Thrill is Gone."

I'll miss you guys.

Good post. Idk if he will win or not. And frankly, I’m happy considering some of the other names considered. But it wasn’t a TN guy. Prob won’t be a VFL staff. And certainly not a big name. But he may win. I think most fans are upset with our leadership more than which coach we hired. They seem incompetent at everything they attempt and the past decade is the proof in the pudding. They took a top tier program and turned it into a bottom dweller. With no reasonable belief it will change anytime soon. Jeremy Pruitt may become a legend here, but it’s a shot in the dark again. But he’s our coach now so I will support him and the team. He isn’t the problem though. It’s higher up for sure.

Will somebody please point me in the right direction? I'm looking for VFL responses to this hire and can't find any.
