I’d much prefer Venables but I’m starting to think a Tucker hire wouldn’t be that bad. Depending on the staff around him and who he gets as OC I think it could be a good hire.

A steel hire would need an absolute rock star staff to get me even somewhat excited. Even then it’d be a hard sell.

If he could keep the top Tennessee talent I'd be thrilled. If that's your only knock then he's light years ahead of every other candidate, but since it's too easy we won't do it. Our program is allergic to sound football choices.

I think with a good deal, Brohm would have taken it. I'm guessing after everything that has gone on no one wants this job right now. The Haslams are still there, and Bill Haslam is set to be the University President doesn't help.

I think it will be Steele. I hate it, but that seems to be the direction. I would still offer 6-8 million to Patterson and make him tell us no.

I am losing my mind.

I mean its one thing to not be able to get a home run hire. I understand that. But to be unable to get a good or mediocre hire and have to resort to the likes of Kevin Steele who is an awful hire is beyond me.

There are good hires that would take it though. The fact we may bypass those for someone no one wants is what is mind blowing.

I have never interviewed as a head coach for a college football team, but you'd think maybe you'd have to give AD an idea of possible staff?

Maybe it won't be him at all.
