More info
My source says Gruden wants the job, but you also need to understand my source has MASSIVE financial incentives to get a deal done, while Gruden really doesn't need this.
Sunday he was telling me Gruden was ready to move on and today hes telling me Gruden still wants the job.
They are trying to verify the guy

I can't understand the love. Seven jobs came open about the same time and Miles name never came up. Tennessee is in a do or die situation and he's rumored to be #2.

Do you folks take time to read? Or do you just jump to conclusions?

Re-read my post. It does not say he is my #2. Only that I am coming around to the idea of him if we cannot land a top target. I have been very open about my list, and Les isn’t on it.

"family friend that works for the Gruden camp"
"I just spoke with my source who said now that Currie is gone Tennessee has reached back out to Gruden. He is the #1 choice for the job and Les Miles is #2. He said that Tenn informally offered a contract to Miles (Basically like Schaino's contract, not good until Tennessee actually signs it). If Gruden falls through, Tennessee will sign on the dotted line and secure Miles."

and a bit more info

Sounds about right. But I haven't heard him say no.

Why unprofessional? What better way to announce it? I think the AD would be good with it. Great publicity. But, I doubt it would happen.

To his current employer it would be. Doing that without telling them would be like going nuclear. No way he is going to burn that bridge. If he did it at all he would need to tell them in advance and the execs would then have to agree to let him do it. At which point ESPN would, assuredly, break the news before he even had the chance.

There is a very succinct method in which these things are done. The university puts out an announcement that said coach has been hired (preferably as they tend to leak out immediately before the U has the chance to put out the announcement) and then a press conference is held a day or two later to formally introduce new said coach.

To have some sort of announcement outside of that especially on MNF is nonsensical.
