No, you keep options open. Never assume the answer will be yes. Always have contingency plans. Reference Currie and Schiano. Things didn't work out and Currie was left in scramble mode. You make Peterson aware that he's the #1 choice, but you never willingly paint yourself into a corner and give a prospective employee all the power in a negotiation. Hope for the best but plan and prepare for the worst.

I think Fulmer put out feelers to see who was interested and some folks are just now getting back to him. It's only day 3 for him, so he's working fast while the ones he's pursuing are working on their own time.
