Can we at least make him turn us down publically and at least get some solid articles out that he was indeed a candidate that we went after hard? Most people dont even believe that we went after him. They think it's all a joke.

I would love to cap it off with Gruden but if not at least we took a foundational step to fix our AD. No one has the ability to hit a guaranteed home run hire and at the risk of pissing some of you off Coach knows more about running this football program than any one of us.

It doesn't matter if you believed him or not. He impacted the narrative of the entire coaching search. I mean, freakin' Hubbs, the most conservative guy in Knoxville media went to the airport to stakeout a plane because Jon Reed decided to do so, with 4.5k watching, and it's known Jon Reed was adamantly reading this site and getting information from here.

It's incredible really.

There will be no more first year Tennessee coaches on the Tron. Butch is a jackass for many reasons that one being one of the biggest reasons and cause for firing.

I'm elated about the power shift that occurred last Friday, I really am. But if we don't get Gruden and it is really true that we were thiiiiiis close to announcing him just before the Schiano debacle... I gotta be honest it's gonna take a while to come to grips with it.

I'd rather be told it was always a fantasy anyways. Sigh.
