I was talking about Grumors with my husband last night. We both agreed that if Gruden isn’t in play for whatever reason, Fulmer would release a statement or have Grudens agent release a statement. Currie didn’t manage fan expectations at all, and I don’t think Phil will make that mistake. The longer it goes on without hearing, the more positive I become that gruden really is listening.

surely he knows that he absolutely HAS to let the fan base know that they tried.

they can spin it that jon just doesn't want to coach college. that's not a black eye type turn down.

then we can all move on, and support the next hire, 'cause the truth is, the next hire will have this hanging over his head for the foreseeable future otherwise.

however, i'm hoping (nigh unto all out crazy train believing) jon can't turn down 10@10!

I'm being realistic about who would actually take the job. Morris is a good coach. I think the SMU re-build is a lot tougher than folks here realize. He proved what he could do with Clemson.

I'm also cool with Miles. His last 4 recruiting classes were all top 10 and I'm betting he has something to prove. Surround him with elite recruiters like Tee & Steele and I'm happy.

Gruden remains my #1 want. However, outside of 3-4 folks on here, there just isn't much (if any) smoke coming from Gruden. With all the connections to CPF, you would think someone would at least mention we are interviewing him in order to make him say no.

i'll jus say this about Tee, because i agree with everyone that points out the limitations on him...they're real.....

but...what if he turns out to be great? even if it's only in a OC position right now under a les miles...what if Tee is great? think about how that might look, and is it not worth taking the same chance on bringing him in, as it is to pass on him because he might not be? under the circumstances, if you can get Miles for 2-3 years, and turn it over to Tee...may be best case.

just sayin'....continue to grude....carry on.

Ainge (especially) and Swain have about as much chance to coach for the Vols as I do. Neither was worth a damn, and both are part of the 9 years Phil is trying to erase.

If the 1st what you are referring then that's debatable. If it's the later, then you obviously don't know what you're talking about. SMH

It wouldn't be as bad as SMU was, but I think it'd be close. He'd have to start winning first , get the recruits attention second, and get them signed third. It would be at least two years before he'd start winning at least 8-9 games, (That's assuming he would). Meanwhile there is so much apathy here, he'd lose a lot of us. Unlike that other guy whom everyone knows and would love to play for. Immediate results.

They actually have recently. They just haven't made a big deal out of it nor stated it in one of their updates. Hubbs maintains that Gruden is not an option. They tend to focus on who they consider realistic instead of click bait.
