Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVII

Exactly why I said last night that for the first time I felt like I could go to sleep without worrying our program was going to be sabotaged overnight.

I've been meaning to ask (keep forgetting in my old age)

But where in LA are you located?

Honestly I think watching Alabama, AU, and Clemson’s Ds knocm around fancy offenses is more fun than watching fancy offense. Common denominator in natty teams are smash mouth defense. Winning games sells tickets in the long run.

Plus a mobile QB and a run game that can chew up clock.

Speaking of planes.... What will come of all the fake flight plans that UT kept filing? That alone was pathetic...

You are right and the fake news will never admit though. They could not get over Tenn not trying to hire a good coach but ready to hire a nothing of a coach. He said it was like somebody has been trying to destroy the program. I am sure he was meaning Haslam lol.

They would like nothing better than for Tennessee to stay irrelevant.. Gruden to the hill! Soon!

He mentioned Currie by name and no doubt who he was insinuating. Goes back to everybody knows. On social media it is well documented and believed. Most folks don't believe nor take the media pundits to seriously any more. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what has been dragging down the program. And it sure isn't the fans, it isn't the revenue and it isn't the long standing rich history and tradition. It was one ego man and a few puppets that were bought off and paid to toe his line. The line is GONE, he can GTFO! It's a new day at UT!

For whatever reason, I cannot get that s***eating grin on Currie's face during his PC when asked about Gruden out of my head. Looking back, that grin simply was one big middle finger to Volnation b/c he already knew who his man was.

Right on👍🏽 Fulmer never being at a negotiation table,do you think he will be clutch enough to go for it with the right numbers in place and fire his shot or is there any doubt there

Fulmer is a national championship coach. He will be fine. I am quite sure in his lifetime he has been before many negotiating tables and come out unscathed.

That sure seems to be the case doesn't it?!

Man, a coaching search without flight tracking is like Festivus without the airing of grievances. It just ain’t right. This is tradition. Don’t take it away from us.

Well we have just had our airing of grievances, so bring on the present.

If Fulmer meant it when he said he was going to make winning fun again, he has to be targeting an offensive minded whiz. That would lead me to think Leach is still in play as well as Brohm and Gruden. Each would bring some fun and exciting football to the field.

I know, most would think Brohm would be a huge letdown, but I think Fulmer wants to score points. A lot of them. Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships. He has to be thinking of a high octane offense guy for HC, and helping to get a badass DC as well.

PF is a guy that wants to line his guys up nose to nose with your guys and play smash mouth. The fun part?--That's winning. Don't think he's referring to a 8 win per year coach like Leach would be at UT.

Alternate explanation:

The Gruden negotiations were real for all concerned with the exception of John Currie. John Currie ran a con at the direction of Haslam, to make everyone else think Gruden was happening, while Currie negotiated in secrecy with Schiano. In fact, he did his job so well that his con was not discovered until early last Sunday morning. If not for that early morning leak, we would have Haslam, Currie, and Greg Schiano today.

Yep, and Currie used the exact same tactic with Schiano that Haslam used to plant Currie and usurp Fulmer from the AD search.

The mystery candidate for AD was Currie.

The mystery candidate for HC was Schiano.

And both were orchestrated behind the scenes by Haslam.

I believe Gruden knows this, I am not saying he takes it. But I don't for one minute think that the BS floated by many in the media and what Currie and Haslam tried to pull off will deter him. I could be wrong, but if that problem has been taken care of I think we have a good chance. SOON! Bring him home PHIL! Lead the way JON! "CHUCKY" to ROCKY TOP!

Agree SmokeyTop, that image keeps flashing back to me as well, and just attests to Currie's arrogance and incompetence.

Leach knows nothing about SEC football other than getting stomped by them in a couple of bowl games...

He got beat by Alabama and Mississippi, I believe..
