Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVII

I don’t think Coach Cut comes, not even for Phil. He’s close to hanging up his whistle and I really just think he’s content where he is. Plus it’s Gruden anyways!

Soon

Very logical, but I'm sure there may be some additional compensation required due to what he has been put through.

Unless, in some way, this was a part of the plan.

Just skeptical is all ,I know these things take time but it's taken 5 years to come up with a good deal for gruden, all of those things should be ironed out wouldn't you think? Ask him the number he wants and how much control he needs and give it to him that's how I look at it, easier said then done though.

My buddy works for a large grocery store chain and he swears by it. They sell it at his Harris teeter it’s just a powder you mix in water and he says it wipes away a hangover in no time

Pickle juice. Seriously. Take a shot or two of pickle juice (assuming the bar you're at has some), and drink some water periodically. The salt in the pickle juice retains the water and prevents complete dehydration, which is the root cause of a hangover.

I figured I'd take it a little easier on you this AM.

You were the pinnacle of how we all were feeling last night.

You could put a spoiler tag after that first introductory paragraph so that the whole post won't show up when people just lazily quote you. (I think that works)

The Grude News, the morning edition. For those just joining us...

OX0yQ.gif

I'm not sure even where to start after yesterday's events. But I'll start with my utmost admiration at what my Vol Brothers and Sisters pulled off in the last week. Never before has a fan base ever even come close to doing what we did to get done what we knew we had to. In one word: amazing. We went from downtrodden masses after a complete disaster of a season to energized and focused on a single goal. Don't listen to the media or the idiots on SEC Nation. We did it by showing the leadership at UT and, in turn, the world what we were all about. The Power T isn't dead and we showed them it's a lifestyle, not a logo.

PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THE WHOLE POST!

This morning, we'll have kind of a hybrid of what I've done. Maybe be a bit long, but enjoy.

We woke up dreading what was coming at us, knowing full well Currie had been in California. Now, we didn't think Mike Leach was a horrible hire, but remembered it was Currie and we were like.

But decided to get up anyway and see what damage had been done:

But found we were still coach-less at the moment (little Leo for the ladies):

Somehow, we decided in our minds Currie was at our breakfast table. That's how bad our anger has been:

But managed to make it through the morning without further incidents. Not until we got into the car at least:

And saw our favorite Bammer car on the way to work:

But forgetting we were taking the kids to school that morning:

Got to work and commenced on our email campaign:

And made our phone calls (again):

We even had a protest planned out by one of our own Queens, Sara:

But then, news started to leak about Currie being recalled:

And possible news he was being removed:

More and more media was reporting it:

We had done it! He was being removed! It was like our Hail Mary, last second shot had been pulled off!

However, our celebration was short lived as another name popped into the conversation. Reid Sigmon, a man Currie hired:

So, our email and phone calls doubled:

But all the sudden, a name surfaced. A name we could all get behind. A man respected enough to take the helm:

But we were scared. Was it only rumor?

But then...UT updated the website with the news!

And he had a press conference that afternoon. Exuding confidence and raising our own:

And said "we're going to make winning championships fun again."

We were ecstatic! We called everyone!

:):dance2::good!:

Ok here is my hangover cure (well, it's actually all about prevention)

You absolutely must stop drinking an hour before going to bed. During that time, drink at least a quart of water and some orange juice, maybe eat a granola bar. It's all about rehydrating and getting some electrolytes back in you.

The solution to pollution is dilution.

so where the he!! were you last night when I need that wisdom

He signed a contract weeks ago that wasn't properly executed. Your guess is as good as mine as to what must be done to atone for that sin.

Okay, let me say the obligatory Gruden to the Hill, Gruden til it ain't.

Second, if I understand correctly, when Cut turned us down last week, it was to the effect of, "I won't work for that administration." Then, Director Fulmer mentioned in is presser that coaches who previously weren't interested before will be now.

Soooo, I really feel like Cut may be approached to see if he wants to come in and right the ship as he closes out his career, grooming Tee to take over when he retires. If they assembled a staff that had some orange ties, this could work.

Third, same with Miles. It would be a bigger splash nationally, but wouldn't splash as big with volnation as Cut.

:twocents:

I know a lot have said they wouldn't mind Miles. I actually would be disappointed. He just seems like a stop the bleeding hire.

This....also, not at budget friendly...but a teaspoon of activated charcoal

Yeah, so Gruden then Kelly...the next logical step is of course Schiano.

Doesn't sound fishy at all.

Also, $35m annually is a ludicrous number. That's probably higher than any single sum donation of any SEC school. It's the kind of money that gets your name on an entire school in the college, or a new building. And to do that annually?

This all sounds contrived.

Far fetched? Maybe. But you do realize that Ergen is worth 3x what Little Jimmy is worth? When you get into the millions and beyond, the difference in that much cash becomes astoundingly larger than most of us can comprehend.

Such a cluster, I can't wait for new info to be brought in for insight I love the gruden thread

hmmm so if Gruden was ready, then after this turn of events and shift, why would we not go back and get the guy who was #1 on the list?

Exactly. Gruden couldn't care less about the media circus and would certainly realize that other than the savior of the world, Jesus Christ that there would be no being that could elicit more joy this December of 2017 than Gruden accepting the Tennessee HC position. He would resurrect the dead program and make UT football players walk on water....maybe with Tee as OC.

Because Haslem is a controlling dickweed

And he doesn't know **** from shinola about building a football team - plus, he had already tried to hire Schiano once and that blew up on him as well - apparently he doesn't learn too good neither

Maybe, but let's assume his net worth is 16 billion or so then 35 million would be the equivalent of a millionaire giving around 4 thousand a year.
