First of all, having coached as long as he has I believe he understands he would have to bring in top 15 recruiting class every year. Also, He can surround himself with experienced SEC recruiters. One other thing you haven't mentioned when you talked about him being successful at smaller schools but that isn't as easy as you make it sound when you play OU, Texas, A&M and TCU. And here is the best part your leaving out, He did it with far less talent which tells me he can coach players up. That's what we need with the talent we do have. Just my 2 cents.

Top 15 won't cut it.

Currie has just done what the Haslams has told him what to do.

He is screwed from both sides.

We look like fools.

nah WE dont....its strarting to get out there to all the public, not just us, that this is the administration. So finally ppl are starting to understand where we are coming from.

You can't win in this conference when you finish in the bottom half of the league in recruiting.

Defensive lines will blow up the O line and his offense won't score points. We won't be able to stop anyone on defense.

Gotta recruit studs to win in the SEC. It's not the Pac where you can win with points alone.

Lol he scored points on everybody at KY.

We need this circus to continue. Everyone is missing the big picture here. We need to rid ourselves of the Haslam regime. There's fighting and backstabbing going on. That's WHY we can't hire a coach. I mean we had Brohm done and someone blocked it.

We need this to continue until we rid ourselves of Currie and get someone as AD who wants to win.

Someone the other day talked about how there seems to be two coaching searches going on simultaneously.

That looks to be what is happening. And each side keeps sabotaging the other.

Meanwhile us fans keep riding the rollercoaster everyday. No, every hour.

If Dooley can recruit here anyone can. He will have us rolling in year 2 in a universe without Haslams

Wow. A caller just called into the sports animal. Said his wife is friends with Curries wife.

Caller stated Curries wife was an emotianl wreck yesterday crying telling her, " He just did what they told him to do".

Pat Ryan said, "Yes, it's not a good situation for John or his family".

This makes me feel bad for him, because we all know who the family is who is calling all the shots and making him look like an idiot.

Yeah good thing Pinkel had all those stacked classes or he’d never won the east. Nothing wrong with having a good coach for a change. Butch was a great recruiter and he’s at home collecting a buyout right now. I think UT will recruit well enough to do well with Leach.

Please, please, please, please, please just go ahead and hire Leach.

I’m not going to ask for anything else. He is the best remaining hire, and if we manage to end up with him after the absolute shot show this search has been then that would be great.

I firmly think Fulmer wants to try and bring Steele here because he is a former Vol and "SEC" man and that makes me want to get sick.

Fight Fulmer fight!!!

Fulmer is the only guy in this mess who wants to see UT win. We have to rid ourselves of this tyrant's control or we will never be good.

I think the ceiling is probably higher but share all your concerns.

We all agree he's going to have bring in some big time recruiters. However, do those type guys want to work for Mike Leach? He's a weird cat - which is sometimes fine - but do they want to deal with it on the ground level day in and day out?

Like, I can't imagine Kevin Steele jumping at the opportunity to make Mike Leach his boss.

I'm like Jimmy in the fact that I have a hard time seeing Manning, Fulmer, Haslam and even Currie hiring that guy just because he's so weird. He rode to their practice a while back on a bicycle with no shirt on with sandals lol
