He is passionately weird ... Dude can coach... Not Gruden, but I would take if Gruden is out

This...I don't think he's the savior or anything but DUDE CAN COACH...

and this 'can he recruit nonsense' is plain silly....Dooley could recruit here, Sgt Carter (BJ) could recruit here with his flat out LOW football I.Q. speak...

Leach would kill it here.

If he makes noise at a place like Washington State he could potentially do very well here.

I just heard some news that falls right in line with all this Haslam BS.

When Debord left Butch was handcuffed on his OC hire. I'm hearing he was told that he basically had a 650,000 dollar cutoff to hire an OC from Hart which we all know was really Haslam.

They knew he would fail. Now watching this coaching search and not wanting to spend money I have to ask again. Why do they not want to see Tennessee football back on top?

That was all in a Mike Griffith article posted yesterday

The Grude News, the morning edition. For those just joining us...

Today we received insider information from highly placed sources within the UT Administration and a transcript of the conversations had between members of that community. Those with small children and Gator fans should take the time to remove them from the room.

The two individuals identified in this transcript are UT Chancellor Beverly Davenport and a senior aide.

{Bev} "Excuse me, why is the email server down again?"

{Aide} "Madam Chancellor, we got hit with another surge of 142,000 emails in about ten minutes last night."

{Bev} "Those alumni at it again?"

{Aide} "Yes, Madam."

{Bev} "Yeah, my phone quit again from Twitter bombardment. Can you let IT know I need another one for the fourth time this week?"

{Aide} "Yes, Madam."

{Bev} "So, give me the breakdown..."

{Aide} "Normal day it seems. The idea to outsource the reading to the firm in India seemed to be doing a little better catching up on the past emails, but their servers caught fire after we sent them the files and they attempted to download them. But the numbers they had were: 97% wanted Currie to eat a bag of flaming dog poo, 24% want him fired yesterday and 0.0083% said he was doing a fine job and we should keep him for at least ten years."

{Bev} "Wait, that's more than 100%"

{Aide} "We're still catching up."

{Bev} "Right, and those 0.0083%?"

{Aide} "Traced back to various Athletic Departments from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Butch Jones and some person named Catbone."

{Bev} "Catbone?"

{Aide} "We don't know either. But he keeps sending pictures of himself as well."

{Bev} "Pictures?"

{Aide} "You really don't want to know..."

{Bev} "Anything else?"

{Aide} "Yes, some woman named Sara has now set the record for contacting head coaches directly on Twitter. She appears to be a Tennessee fan."

{Bev} "Something we can use?"

{Aide} "I'd think that might not be the wisest choice..."

{Bev} "Okay..."

{Aide} "We do think we got some encoded traffic meant for the CIA or NSA last night as well. We sent it over to them to attempt to decipher, but they are having a hard time making it out as well. Could be the Russians."

{Bev} "Russians? That Cuddly Bear thing?"

{Aide} "No, another animal this time. Was a solid wall of random text from an anonymous person only identified as 'Ape.' We're still waiting to hear back."

{Bev} "Nothing else?"

{Aide} "We received another 35 emails from Les Miles begging for the job. Another from Derek Dooley just laughing at us and 19 high school coaches already took their names out of the running before being asked."

{Bev} "Currie still out in Idaho looking for a coach?"

{Aide} "We think he's moved on to Laos."

{Bev} "As in Southeast Asia?"

{Aide} "They have a very active recreation league in a town named Lak Sao."

{Bev} "Not sure the boosters are going to buy off on that."

{Aide} "At least they aren't laughing before hanging up on him. Though we aren't sure if that happened or not since translation was kind of tricky with their regional dialect and someone named Dudley doing the translation."

{Bev} "Problems?"

{Aide} "He was using Google translate and trying to teach them how to say 'flaming bag of dog poo' before we cut him off."

{Bev} "Anything else?"

{Aide} "Sorry to say, every PR firm we talked to has turned us down on that emergency contract to shore up our image. Some even said they'd rather represent the coaches and offered their work pro bono to another school if Currie contacts them."

{Bev} [audible sigh and grunt]

{Aide} "Sorry, Madam."

{Bev} "No, it's not you. Nothing else?"

{Aide} "No ma'am, the same as it was yesterday."

Why in the world?

I realize it sucks but this is the best hire we've potentially had in the works out of this s*** show. Sooner fans still love the guy, Lincoln Riley is a Leach disciple and Oklahoma doesn't look too shabby. He's got a solid D at Washington State in a typically offensive driven conference....and he develops QBs like Spurrier..

Who in the hell (besides Gruden) do you folks want?

We don't want Currie making ANY hire. If he's gone, it will all work out. Cut the damn cancer out of the University first. What the hell can people not understand about the concept. Your comment of "I realize it sucks but this is the best hire we've potentially had" is, with all due respect, part of the problem!!

If leach is an actual possibility and not just a puppet show, if we have any hope of keeping the pressure up on the administration to fire before hire, I fear we need a big booster to sign on as leader. If that isnt going to happen, this will fail. Just my two cents.

Beaver did his job in rallying enough forces to accomplish the initial phase of the resistance, but that’s the problem. Beaver is a screen name. We need a real name. If the boosters won’t publicly rally the troops, I’m afraid our efforts will be in vain.

Now I really am out or I will have a class full of disappointed seven year olds.

We get it, but here's your problem champ. While the fans are holding up their end of the deal, Exile alluded last night that the boosters who were so "outraged" are not holding up their end of the deal.

They've been bought my man, at this point, the question is, do we continue to make ourselves look foolish? Or do we get behind a coach who can actually develop talent and do more with less?

Leach is a damn fine coach, we keep up and we'll end up with a coach like Doeren.

Do you want that?

If the boosters have quit then its done. TN will be lucky to reach the toilet bowl. Ive got better things to commit time to if this is the best we can do.

Someone show me proof he can coach. This is pissing me off. How many players has he put in the league? Championships won? Don’t give me this crap about his great offensive mind. What has it produced?

As of today, I’m pulling for a Scott Satterdield or revisit of Dave Doeren. This fan base obviously hasn’t had a big enough wake up call. Burn this thing down.

Well for starters just check at his offensive stats vs ours...there is all the proof you need.

Also how about he beat 2 teams in the top 12 this year....How many did we beat??

^This. We've seen this show before. It doesn't matter what shiny new toy they dangle out in front of us. The merits of any particular coach don't matter. So long as Currie is still employed, they win. Currie could trot out the ghost of General Neyland and we should reject him.

FIRE. BEFORE. HIRE.

I would love for Currie to be gone --- but who's going to fire him? Every hour he's on the job it becomes less and less likely. Don't you think he would have been fired days ago? And what happened to Currie being pulled from the search? I'm not sure the President and Chancellor wield enough power on their own to make a change.

We get very little information and what we do get is mostly inaccurate. Any tidbit of sketchy news is gobbled up here like steak in a dog pen. I'm beginning to feel like a pawn in someone else's game. We think we understand the game based on a handful of 'cloak and dagger' messages from anonymous posters. Folks, we're making assumptions and accusations on lies and innuendos. It's hard to separate truth from fiction anymore -- not that we EVER knew the truth.

All of this I said my opinion because -- like all of you -- I have no ****ing idea what's going on behind the scenes.

The boosters were never in the fight, contrary to what the LARPers on this board have trolled us with.

I can't understand some people on here. With the toxic environment we're currently in, Leach is essentially the equivalent of a Gruden hire. I don't mean in coaching, but in a splash hire sort of way. If he turns us down, then our next coach will be a Dooley caliber hire. We're not going after Tee, as much as I'd love it if we don't get Leach, but Peyton won't let us get Tee. So either cross your fingers Leach says yes and get on board, or welcome to another Dooley era.

John needs to go before we hire. Installing a new AD may take some time. David is not a candidate and mostly likely will not be for the foreseeable future. I would suggest to start beating the drum for Charles (Davis). That is where my attention has turned in the meetings and discussions I have been apart of over the last 24hrs.
Brilliant! He would be a fantastic hire in my opinion.
Media savvy, well respected by the media, VFL
Man he was fast when he played for UT.

Keep it in line with Cleveland Browns brand?

Charles Davis for AD? Interesting. Any ballpark timeline on the change?
