Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVI

I really want to get a shepard one day but the hair really gets me and I still am not sure I want to deal with it. But man I love them.

The schnauzer shed and it was semi bad, any more and I don't think the intakes in the house could handle that!

I love German Shepherds and have had them most of my life. The shed factor is real lol! It was at it’s worst when we lived in the Keys. Much easier to maintain in a subtropical climate now.

They can be a handful but damn they’re smart dogs.

Been complaining about the administration and Haslam for years and years. Seems right now is as close as it will ever be to actually change.

Not so fast my friends....

....because as it pertains to Currie, there are a few glaring items to note about Wash. St.!

First, they do not have an AD presently. Second......
“(In an ironic twist, Tennessee would be hiring a coach from a school run by Currie’s former boss at Kansas State, Washington State president Kirk Schulz.)”

Mike Leach targeted in Tennessee coaching search

Hmmmm......

Amazing! Our female is the dopey one but she’ll show up if there’s problems. Just basic manners training for her. She had a hard life before she came to us.

Our male is ridiculous with prey drive. We’re beginning protection classes with him soon. He has the most solid nerves I’ve ever seen. Both are great family members.

Sorry to go off topic!

Off topic or not it's what this thread is!

Females are definitely a better protector in my opinion around the house. The male hopefully does well then, confident dogs with high drive are so fun to see, it's just amazing.

Funny story, when we got the Schnauzer we had a judge who found him and came over with his wife for a month, and the dog came from incredible lines from an old school trainer in the middle of nowhere.

It was our first dog from Germany, and we built and overly expensive and large indoor kennel for him. The judge was adamant about the dog is a working dog, he lives in the kennel and he works.

After the month was over, the summer temps were in the 100's so we said F it and brought him into the house, you could see his little eyes just grow as he laid down on the cool brick floor in thew sunroom.

He never went back in the kennel, and it just stayed up taking up space in the garage.

We have different Twitter circles then because that’s not what these eyes are seeing. I’m seeing the same frustrated fandom as always as well as an awakening media that we were right to be angry after all. Appreciate your post but I sure hope as heck hope that I’m right.

This from last night....

As much as I love this tweet, Sean Salisbury is looking for followers. I hope he doesn’t share any photos.

This is definitely the closest opportunity we’ve had to oust the Haslam influence. I just pray it sticks. If we lose this battle with him, he will be unbearable.

You may be right. The timing for UT's barrage of phone calls looking for donations couldn't have happened at a worse time. I just hit "ignore" the other day. I would bet donations are waaaaaay down this go-around.

My buddy from high school, his father was from Germany, and they had a great Sheperd. It was so amazing seeing him and I never forgot and said when I could get my own I would.

When came time the hair scared me. Tried the schnauzer.

My bio on VN used to say one word...Leaches. I used to love this guy, but I think this hire is 5 years too late.

It doesn't matter to me right now. I can't get excited about any candidate if Currie and Haslam are still involved. Yell at me if you want, but as much as I like Leach, he isn't the solution until the Puppet Master and his Minions are eliminated.

Same here. Most of twitter comments relate to his entertaining pressers. Not many discussions ab record, recruiting or quality of fit. We shall see. I think his agent is same agency as Sexton, so maybe he 's just in for a raise.

Have done a little digging and came up with some information.

Disclaimer: I selectively and arbitrarily identified categories to pull information from regarding candidates (at least my top three). It is based solely on a numbers game. I did not include character issues, overall win/lose in any position other than as a HC. However, I did try to as accurately reflect if the candidate had been in any capacity associated with a part of ANY type of championship team, including Superbowl, College National Champs, or Divisional/Conference champs. Below are the unofficial results:

Candidate A: Overall HC winning record is 0.557. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.000. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 13.

Candidate B: Overall HC winning record is 0.541. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.556. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 5.

Candidate C: Overall HC winning record is 0.719. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.571. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 13.

All of the above candidates have some type of coaching related NFL experience. All are familiar with the SEC. So, while I would be happy with any of them, who would you all select?

Again, I have tried to as accurately represent this information but I could have missed a championship here or there. Keep in mind, championships include conference titles, divisional titles, etc. while the candidate was affiliated with that team, either as a HC or some other (non-player) capacity.

I had a German Shepherd as a kid. Great dog. The hair is unreal, or at least I thought it was until my husband and Kids adopted a basset hound. The hound never stops shedding.

Lol! That was my first black GSD. Amazing lines, high drive, high focus. He just wanted to be the pet and chase tennis balls. He did excel in his training though. Was one of the best dogs I’ve ever owned.

I think in the end they just want to be with their pack. I’ve never really subscribed to keeping them separate because they’re working dogs. I can see that it’s a better fit for some.

Trolls with flamethrowers aimed at me will be ignored:
Any discussion about any coach is just noise to me. We should be focused on:
-removing John Currie as AD
-neutralizing Jimmy Haslam, (please remember his dad is not a real player any more)
-regroup/reset the coaching search
-send someone with an offer to get a public yea or nea from Jon GRUDEN.
-proceed from there
This parading of coaching candidates seems orchestrated to me. Both Fox Sports and WNML this morning are chewing on Leach like he's Christmas candy, loving it. For me, any coach hired before the above steps are taken is tainted.
Thank you....Gruden till he says no...to our faces.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The chaos that is going on in our football program right now can only be matched by the chaos in his mind. Screw it. Leaches are good for bloodletting.

Hello darkness my old friend
I've come to talk with you again.
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seed while I was sleeping.
And that vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sounds of silence.

Soon.
