The party goes on for a few more years and the money will flow in. Business as usual. Sad. Wonder if big donors will still withhold funds.

I feel completely betrayed by the people who are allowing this to proceed with Leach while Currie is still employed by the University. And every fan who emailed or called or tweeted the University begging them to end the Haslam influence by firing his tool should feel the same way.

Each and every one of us has a knife in our backs if this happens.

Look at his record cat daddy. Look at all the records. The best record out there is Les Miles. Brohm would have been a good hire. Leach will come for the money but I promise you his buyout will be high. Ain't no coach coming here without covering his azz. I don't care who it is. And when you start putting caps on the assistants salary which is a restriction they gonna lay down. Our AD is the worse in this country. They are making their own track record. I predict UF will have 4 more wins than UT next year as it stands now. You have 5* lineman walking away because they can see this cluster f*#k.

You are an idiot. Leach is a great hire. He took Texas Tech to #1 and Washington State to #9 using players no one else wanted and churning out NFL talent. And FYI our recruits are already tweeting their love of the hire.

Full Gruden. 100% believe we could have a shot if we Fire Currie and hire Blackburn.

BUT. Leach would not have been very far down my list of potential hires.

He took Texas Tech of all places to a #1 ranking at a time when Texas and Oklahoma both were top 10 teams. Pretty impressive.

However, I still want Currie GONE before we make this hire! We need the Haslam's gone. This would be a very nice band-aid, but only a band-aid.

Fire Currie. Gruden to the Hill!

I’m gonna order you “Hooked on Phonics” for Christmas.

who? the boosters that were supposed to be fighting with us?

Every night this week we've went to bed scared of the coach that was rumored and every day we have excaped. Let's hope for another tomorrow! Ugh...this morning

Exile, is it possible that this hire ISN’T being made by Currie? The Haslams can’t control Leach. He’s not even trying to control himself, right? LOL So, maybe this decision is being made by others? Skeeter’s fireworks meant something, right?

If the can't control him they will fire him and do this same stuff all over again. People need to see the entire picture. Leach is about their number what choice???? Heck Currie went for Dorean for goodness sakes, this is nothing but them trying to satisfy enough of the fan base to pull it off. I think they are sorely mistaken if they do it. I have been going to games for over 40 years. Been to at least 1game every year except 2 years since 1983. Until Haslam is no longer calling shots and Currie is gone I won't be back. I will watch from the recliner, but I won't spend another dime on UT until they are gone and I know quite a few that feel the same way.

I know, I said that earlier and got flamed. He’s the one guy that could be one of us. He prolly thinks what we did Sunday was awesome and would be right there with us.

May do for UT football, what Bruce Pearl did for UT basketball, minus the final chapter. . . but it’s still the Gruden thread, “til it’s not.”

If the chatter I'm hearing is true...ugh.

I said at the beginning of the ordeal this week, if Currie hires a coach, ANY coach, I'm out. I meant it. Currie making a hire means Haslam is still at the rudder.

The speed with which so many people in here have just rolled over is astounding and sad. Ya'll are just lumps of clay in the puppeteer's hands as the master plan is working again: If the powers that be just wait long enough, ya'll will smile as you're molded into whatever the hell the HOH decrees. It's pathetic...

This is my opinion.

Haslam was losing, we were winning.

Haslam recognized what was happening. He realized that his F-U candidates (Doeren, et al) were intensifying public outcry.

He flipped tactics. Proffered a decent coach (NOT elite, sorry) and offered the SHAM of saying "Currie is pulled from the search."

Currie is still AD.

Haslam's influence is intact.

The coach can and will be undermined by Haslam after the hire.

The cycle continues.

Except the cycle will stop for this particular fan.

Okay, objectively speaking...

Leach isn't a horrible hire. Kind of quirky, but pretty dang proficient in getting a lot out of his players. When he was at Texas Tech, that's when Texas was the big dog in the State and the other "big" schools (ATM, Baylor, TCU and TTU) competed for the leftover scraps. I think he could bring in a very dynamic offense.

Now the bad part...he's not a "name brand" that sells itself in the cutthroat world of SEC recruiting. Plenty of folks know him, sure, but he's just not...exciting. Not to say he can't build a base, but the big point is he would have to build a recruiting base which will take time. If he managed to drop into a top 10 class like Jones did his 2nd year, it could get interesting.

I'm going to have to sleep on this to determine whether I could accept this kind of hire. Certainly worlds better than a Chad Morris (no offense Rev) or a Doeren. Equal to a Gundy? Not sure yet.

I'm with you GV - He's quite a character and his press conferences are a blast because you never know what the man is going to say next.

My concern is that he wins an average of 7.5 games. I'm just not seeing how he's going to take us to competing for championships. It just seems to me, he's a middle of the road coach now and will be a middle of the road coach in the SEC.

Gruden 'til it ain't!

Leach is 38-37 in 6 years at Washington State. That not points scored it's WINS and LOSSES. That isn't solid it's mediocre! Them are the facts, it all comes down to wins and losses. Don't tell me he is solid, if he is 500 in the pac in 6 years what makes anyone think he will succeed at UT in the SEC. I don't do twitter but someone post the FACTS!. JUST FIRE CURRIE!!!!!
