First thing Leach needs to do is get offensive linemen committed.

He isn’t winning anything without o lineman.

How does the rest of our roster shape up for his scheme?

I think skill positions will fit very well. Should excite the receivers. You're dead on with linemen. He's about to get the keys to a Ferrari. It's going to be fun to watch him drive it.

“Takeaways equal victories,” said Grinch, whose uncle is former Missouri coach Gary Pinkel. “It’s the only reason we’re out there, to get the ball back for the offense. A lot of people don’t think like that. They look it at more that you’re trying to limit yards. But you’re there on defense for one reason, to get the ball back. If you’re playing defense in basketball, no one is confused as to why you’re playing defense. It’s to get the basketball. It’s the same thing in football.

“We’re trying to brainwash our guys into believing that, so every single practice we’re stripping at it, grabbing at it and trying to knock it loose.”

That ball-hawking approach is also the reason why the first full scrimmage with Grinch as Washington State’s defensive coordinator turned into a free-for-all producing several fights.

Uhh yes please

I don't want to jinx it but how fricking lucky is John Currie to go from hiring Greg Schiano and offering Dave Doeren to potentially landing Mike Leach?

Pretty damn lucky to have this fanbase. We were like bumpers on a bowling lane for that dip.

More like an 85 gun man o’ war surrounded by 102k bloodthirsty pirates.

Get some, m-f’ers.

I don't like him going to sleep without a deal... Its like a Friday 13 movie. Freddie keeps getting our coaches in their dreams.

Last bit of info:
Wash. State ran the ball 24.5 times a game, (rank 130...yikes).
But...Miami 112, Purdue 106, Stanford 105, Penn State 100.

Yeah, they didn't run it a lot, but a lot of good teams and good coaches didn't as well.

I think Stanford may win the comparison of these teams on rushing overall, at least for the 2017 regular season.

Wash St ranked 130 in rushing attempts/game
12 games 295 attempts 24.58 attempts/game
71.67 rushing yards per game
860 total rushing yards 2.92 yards/attempt

Miami ranked 113 in rushing attempts/game
11 games 355 attempts 32.27 attempts/game
164.73 rushing yards per game
1,812 total rushing yards 5.10 yards/attempt

Purdue ranked 106 in rushing attempts/game
12 games 407 attempts 33.92 attempts/game
150.92 rushing yards per game
1,811 total rushing yards 4.45 yards/attempt

Stanford ranked 105 in rushing attempts/game
12 games 408 attempts 34.00 attempts/game
210.42 rushing yards per game
2,525 total rushing yards 6.19 yards/attempt

Penn State ranked 102 in rushing attempts/game
12 games 413 attempts 34.42 attempts/game
167.42 rushing yards per game
2,009 total rushing yards 4.86 yards/attempt

Tennessee ranked 102 in rushing attempts/game (tied w/ Penn State)
12 games 413 attempts 34.42 attempts/game
