Just stop and think for a second. We were ranked last year as high as 9th. And if we had beaten TAM, likely would have won the East. Now look at us, how did we fall so fast and hard?

Peyton and Phil have pushed Brohm hard.

Reading the tea leaves he may have been resistant at first but we may have come back with a better deal.

God I hope so anyway.

We will sign Brohm with a stupid contract that lets him bolt to Louisville when Petrino leaves, and we will be back here in a year or so.

If they went after Cut then logic says Steele is their next target.

They think this is a good Tennessee man who will unite the fan base and bring in other VFLs.

They think this is the slam dunk we have been clamoring for.

The only way Cut was ever going to come was if Fulmer and Peyton mediated and appealed to him on a personal level; in other words, begged Cut and convinced UT to make concessions. Think that ship has sailed now.

I only know UT football from Fulmer on down, so I can't speak on much before him, but what was the main ingredient that made Fulmer so successful? He bleeds orange! That alone means more than it's getting credit for because it's more invested than a paycheck and building a resume. Kiffin is a heck of a coach, and was also during his time here, but he bolted for his dream job and left us high and dry with really no remorse. Dooley gets a pass so to speak because everyone knew he was way in over his head, but it was slim pickings. Butch lost to Dooley, which was red flag #1, and he also didn't know how to win in the SEC, he even admitted to not knowing initially that he needed bigger and stronger Dlinemen to win in this league. Tee knows exactly what he would be getting into, exactly what it takes to be successful, and I strongly believe this would be his dream job. The read on I think we keep getting this wrong is because we keep looking to make the best hire instead of looking to make the best hire for us!

His bleeding orange was not the ingredient that made him successful. There are literally millions of other variables, and the fact that almost every HoF coach didn't coach for their alma mater is pretty good evidence that bleeding your school color isn't a contributing factor.

Petrino will probably leave one week after Brohm signs the contract and we'll have hired him with no buyout.

Correct. Only thing that does is maybe and I mean a big maybe. Save you a little money along the way

We really want Leach? Someone convince me his floor is 9 wins.

Note: not being critical of those who want him, Just doesn’t make me excited about our future.

Floor being 9 wins?

Hell, at this point I’d dance in the streets if we find someone who’s ceiling is 9 games.
