Recruiting Forum Football Talk XLVIII (New Coach Edition)

Miles had a hard time recruiting a competent Quarter Back.. a lot of times their offense looked awful...about like ours

Their defense was pretty stout....

I want to see an offensive minded coach now...

We have to get someone who can put all the pieces in place on both sides of the ball....

does anyone have any clue why there is a refusal by the AD to acknowledge Tee’s existence? At this point it is clear they are going out of their way to avoid him.

Same with Les Miles.

I like the Florida Gators and Bama more than Currie right now. And it’s not close.

Do you guys think Haslam and Bahama John are aware that they have killed Tennessee football?

It actually would make sense to mention Steele and then hire Morris. Would make many accept Morris easier knowing Steele was the other option

I hope that's true. Morris with a good DC (Hobby) is a palatable hire at this point. Hobby has Jags' DL playing tough. Would be a great hire for us right now IMO.

If we have to go any farther down the ladded lets just quit football....
I just dont see that person left in the pool to chose from....

Difference between Tee Martin and Lane Kiffin when he was hired at UT was that year and a half stent as Raiders coach.

And he sucked there and had the owner telling everyone he was a snake. Tee meanwhile gets glowing praise from everyone.

I think Tee would have growing pains, but they would happen during the years where we're going to suck anyway. It's not like we're handing the keys to a 10-2 program over to a guy who might drop us to 5-7. If he beats our 3 cupcakes and wins 2 SEC games, he just improved our record in year one.

Posters on tos saying Morris will be announced tomorrow. Apparently his OC is a MTSU grad and it's coming from his family. Tifwiw, (which ain't much)

If we are tracking down old flames, I'm surprised Troy Calhouns name hasn't popped back up this iteration. And I probably looked constipated while typing that.

Miles is the only thing that makes sense. Give him a contract with a declining buyout. Let him stabilize things similar to what Barnes has done with basketball. Probablyyou could get him on the cheap. Give him $5-$6 mil for coordinators. Let him go to work. He still has brand recognition which will help him recruit. Probably can get a kid or two out of LA every year due to his contacts. Bring in the guy that's at LSU that has ties to middle TN. It will work. He has no buyout. Your probably going to be doing this in 4 years again anyway.

Yeah, and it's unlikely to happen. I'm beginning to think we're going to be the SEC doormat through another failed coaching tenure. If we make a bad desperation hire, that'll do it for me. I've hung in through a decade of abject misery and I've had enough.

Remember when at the end of the DOOLEY era we had to drop Steele as a DC candidate because he gave up 70?

Now, we not only return to him, but are ready to place him as HC... not DC

How has it come to this?

Can we get Brohm with Steele as DC?

I hate to say it but a lot of these posts are making me laugh. This is a dark, dark comedy right now.
