Basilio's timeline has Currie targeting Mullen and haslam inserting Schiano when he went with florida

He would be a better fit in Knoxville than he would be in Stillwater. If he goes 8-4 next year while scoring points and getting the ball to our studs, he's a freaking legend in year one.

He better find a legit DC with position coaches.

Great post from a fellow SEC fan, siap.

"I get it

This wasn't about a singular event. This wasn't only about Schiano and Penn State.

It was about Kiffin. It was about Dooley. It was about Jones.

But, it was also about Pearl, Cuonzo and Tyndall.

It was about Delmonico, Raleigh and Serrano.

It was about the tragic end of the Pat Summit era and watching that program slowly be just another SEC team under Holly. A good team for sure, but not what once was.

It was about an athletic program that arguably is currently inferior to Vanderbilt.

It was about finishing 13th overall in the SEC men's all-sports standings for 2016-17. It's about not producing a men's SEC championship team since 2011 men's tennis.

It was about an athletic program that has failed and disappointed time and again. And through it all, people continued to cheer, support, travel, pay and hope.....only to be lied to, let down, and forced to endure.

But, this time would be different. The President of the school changed. The athletic director changed. All of the past failure was well documented. It could not be repeated. It would not be repeated. This time it was going to be different.

And then it wasn't.

And the people, who only have their voices, stood up and said "hell no". As many have pointed out, it united this fan base like nothing else in a decade. Everyone agreed. Everyone had enough. "Hell no". In a matter of a few hours, the push back was so strong that those in power had no choice but to listen.

I know that Tennessee fans are catching hell in some places, but I can only put myself in your shoes and say "I get it"."

Happening?

-LWS

LWS and the fact that Gundy not making a decision until tomorrow is so he can tell his team has me excited again! I hope this is true!

I'll admit if we don't hear of a team meeting by 10 pm I'm back to being depressed haha.

Kudos to UT people for this hail mary after sunday. And to the fans for sunday also. Everyone wins hopefully including Gundy's great great grandchildren.

To echo Skeeter, I believe we've seen evidence that Mullen was Currie's first choice. We've heard that an offer was made on Saturday, but Florida took him out from under us. I definitely think Schiano was high on the list, maybe even number 2 behind Mullen. If those same boosters are saying this is done, then it very well may be.

SKEEEEEEEETER FOR THE WIN

That wheel got rolling when Currie left Knoxville.

That happens when you re talking out of both sides of your mouth promising influential and important people 2 different things. Haslem played the same game in 2012, he just didn't have a propped up AD trying to actively fund a renovation project at the time.

No I get that, but without the monstrous tsunami of backlash by the pheasants it was going to happen. The boosters would have pulled their pledges, but by that time Schiano would have been signed sealed and delivered.

Shoop and every one of the current UT staff need to get the hell out... EVERY one. They're all losers.

I was at the game Saturday before the chit fest went down and as I sat there watching 500 Vandy fans celebrate in our stadium, the thought crossed my mind that if I were AD, I'd hold multiple separate pressers every day publicly announcing the termination of each coach one by one until I ran out of people to fire.

A couple of boosters are saying Gundy has accepted the Ut offer. Keep in mind these same boosters a couple weeks ago were saying Mullen was Curries first choice. Not sure whats going in that ad anymore. crazy stuff

Holy Skeet!

Keep Shoop, replace offensive staff and S&C, win football games.

I would have agreed with you midseason because I thought Butch was holding Shoop back. But after the last few games without Butch, the defense was still terrible. Worse than ever against Vandy. I just don't think he should stay here. Let him and us get a fresh start.
