Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

I agree, but as I said yesterday, even in this one thread this message is not getting thru - much less on the whole board and even less on Twitter. Everyone talking about the potential hires. The ONLY thing that will bring down Haslam et al is to put the whole Gruden story out in public with verification. If that's not possible to do, then people look at us that believed like we're delusional - thus the rest of the story of urgency to topple Haslam falls on deaf ears.

Exactly what Haslam/Currie wanted when they floated Gundy.

i was replying to a guy that has stars in his eyes about Gundy.

Currie needs to be fired ASAP.

So gruden isn’t happening now... i get in your eyes he’s the only one who can fix it but it’s not happening... whonthe hell would you want since your “smdh” at Gundy??? Please tell me... until you name some one who could come then no need to say Gundy isn’t the best choice

Great opinion. How much have you donated to the university? Just curious.. Would ask if you're alumni, but I'm pretty sure that answer can be inferred.

Ah, I see, you're not allowed to be a fan if you didn't go to UT, is that it?

The university has gotten more than enough of my money through season tickets back when we cared about football.

Thanks for allowing me onto your holier than thou turf.

Gruden was NEVER going to be a UT's coach. why some of the fanbase can't understand that is beyond me. Granted gruden did fan the flames abit, but he does like seeing his name in the headlines.

But why are you mad?

Do you think Gundy is a top coach?

Do you think we could worse than Gundy?

Do you think we could do better than Gundy?

I get the outrage, but to go from Greg Schiano to Mike Gundy, that's a big difference there.

For $8.4M? You would get a lot of top coaches to listen. Peterson, John Harbaugh, etc. But how many of those coaches are willing to share an office with Haslam? Looks like Gundy.

At this point, I don't believe Chris Peterson would take this job for 12 million dollars a year. I don't see John Harbaugh as leaving his NFL job either. He makes over 7 million dollars a year with the Ravens and they'd be the 6 seed in the AFC if the playoffs started today. I don't think he'd leave any of that for an extra million dollars.

Nope sorry. Will not allow internet trolls like you to drag the university down even further. Go Vols.

Look, I love this school as much as anyone here. I was born at Fort Sanders in 82 the weekend of the Bama game. I attended from 01-05. I bleed orange and think this is the best university on the country.

But no top tier coach is coming here anytime soon. This is our best option. Overpriced maybe, but at this point we have no other options. Did you see the list of names out there today..... This is the best available option.

Let me break it down for you.....

GRUDEN
WAS NOT,
IS NOT,
WILL NOT,

EVER coach here.... sorry.

This x 1000. People want us to believe the stories that were said here but they are giving us nothing to go on.

If your sources burned you or they were burned themselves, why aren’t they saying what they know? Where in Durwoody did the signing go down, what time, who was there, what were they wearing? Tell us the details and we can put it out there to prove Haslam was the one who refused Gruden. That would for sure ruin the Haslams if we can prove to all of Tennessee and beyond that Gruden was in play.

I don’t know where 8.4 million came from but I don’t buy that. That seems like a number made up by someone on the pity party line of thinking. We are after Gundy but he will only come to this disaster if we give him a stupid amount of money. Doesn’t smell right to me.

It's coming from people tied into OSU. But again, nothing confirmed.

So in five years from now, after Gundy fails, Currie and Haslam will look towards their next hire.

We at VolNation will look back at this day and wonder... What disgusting news did Knuck have? Should it have been brought forward sooner? Could it have stopped Haslam? Would it have been enough to have gotten Currie fired and Gruden hired?
