I have some info that I am trying to get permission to share. It absolutely 100% confirms Haslams involvement and that he is trying to do damage control. Please Vol Nation do not let up !!!

Two hours later.

Ok. Then answer me this. Would you want Greg Schiano as the Tennessee Head Coach if he wasn't tied to the PSU scandal based off his job performance?

Don't know, never thought about it. See, I remember that report coming out in 2016 that implicated Schiano. Sure, was just hearsay, but it was hearsay from a guy who had nothing to win by saying it.

I actually had a fairly positive (though not overly well-informed) view of Schiano prior to that. I don't follow pro football until the playoffs, so never heard any of the grumblings about his two years with the NFL. What I knew of him was that he accomplished more at Rutgers than most other coaches could. Seemed like a competent coach.

Then the news in 2016, and my opinion of him dropped like a rock. Integrity and character are big to me. Very important. Schiano wasn't a sleaze bag from that point on, but he was a potential sleaze bag. There were questions, serious questions.

And so the minute his name came up on Sunday, I was deeply opposed. Didn't even consider his success or failure on the field, only knew that he was FAR from the type person we wanted as the face of Tennessee football.

I suspect a lot of other folks had similar experiences to mine, over the years. And reacted in much the same way.

So you might want to stop asserting that this fan base was focused on his W-L record. It was far more serious than that, to many of us.

Guess you haven’t read any of my posts today. Move on to ousting Haslams needs to be the focus now, not Gruden.

I have not read all your post..I have been at work.. I agree haslams need to go.. in the post of yours that i quoted you said "administration trolled us..boosters lied to friends..fake planes..fake info... It's ok,move on" obviously paraphrasing but your whole statement was great and you ended it with "it's ok, time to move on" just to me seems to be the attitude from the majority of our fan base that got us in this mess.... "yea haslams run it and suck but its ok move on..Yea the boosters pay big money but they only care about getting their name on a building..its ok move on..yea we are the laughing stock of the NCAA and SEC..but it's ok move on.." my response wasn't in regards to gruden..it's the mentality of "it's ok,move on" thats struck a cord with me sorry if i misinterpreted your message

I keep seeing posts that refer to "insiders" as people who may have some first hand knowledge of what's really going on today. Most of us feel helpless and lost not being able to know what's really going on over there. I feel that way but I also know we do have a voice.

There is strength in numbers guys as long as we're all pulling in the same direction. Therefore, going forward, I believe we should give ourselves a name that should keep us focused during this somber time in UT history. Let us be called the "outsiders".

Too soon ? :)

Bet Bubba didn't expect to have to be back in ten days (not ten years) for the next coaching search.

I'd sure like to hear from that guy about what happened and why he felt like it would be ten years until the next search.

I can get behind Gundy. He just needs a elite defensive coordinator. Currie and Haslam still need to go. This doesn't change that

Let me get back to you for in depth thoughts.

Initial impressions will be "like it, don't love it, but he could do good here if he gets a better DC."

He's Big 12 ball. All offense, no defense.

I concur GV...
He will most definitely need to get a quality DC here...
If Fulmer is in the mix that should happen..He had pretty good defenses back in the day...

Absolutely no doubt about it. This is a homerun hire if true. Possible that Currie just saved his job.

WAKE UP PEOPLE ! DON'T BE FOOLED !

Reactions like this are EXACTLY what Currie/Haslam are counting on

CURRIE NEEDS TO BE FIRED AND HASLAM'S STRANGLEHOLD ON UT BROKEN !!!!

No.

He's an asshat and his HC record sucks worse than Butch's. Why don't you get that?

Behr? I do. that's my whole point. He is not a good coach regardless of PSU. Tennessee deserves better. Precisely what I have been saying.

@VolTwitt_er Lets tweet out these phone numbers and call the Alumni Association and the Tennessee Fund.
Tennessee Fund: 865-974-1218
Alumni Association: 865-974-3011
They are making a spreadsheet to take to the higher-ups. Change in administration, firing Currie, and no Halsam

Did my duty and called both numbers. Who knows where it will go but it felt good knowing there's a chance it'll have an impact.

So what about this...

There are statements on here that say Currie is gone even if he hires someone (Gundy for example). Seems strange because why would he hire someone if he knew he was going to get fired anyway, unless...

Currie was given 2 options:
1. Hire someone good and keep the buyout OR
2. Don't hire anyone, just leave and battle in court for buyout.

Thought?

Currie’s hire will determine how marketable he is for his next school.

Sorry if that last line sounded glib, wasn’t meant to. I assure you, I’ve been railing on the Haslams all morning here. I meant the “move on” regarding Gruden, most definitely not towards Haslams. Now is the time to push even harder to purge this University of their influence.

Have a good day at work. 😊
