The thing that would be great about the Gundy hire, if it were to happen, is how unanimously and absolutely intensely Vol Nation would get behind it and be excited. All in the face of all the BS in the national media about our toxic fan base around the Schiano snafu. He would be treated like royalty when he rolled into town for his press conference.

One thing that already seems different about this search versus just a few days ago is that there seems to be some solid details on the offer. The offer for Schiano was probably out there, but I didn't see it widely circulated like the offer to Gundy.

This could be a ploy that will either get Gundy or let other big names know we are actually serious this time, even if it is to make up for COLOSSAL mistake.

Phone calls are quick and easy to make, and you can get coach's attention really fast when you offer to double their salaries. This is desperation territory.
