Regarding Tee:

I've seen about 70% of Vol fans say they'd be pumped about it. About 30% say it makes them nervous but they would support him like crazy.

Every nationally media person I've seen mention Tee to UT says it would be a great hire and what they should've done in the first place.

This thing is about as unanimous as it gets.

Which is exactly why the Haslams won't do it. They like to feel smart. And if it is unanimous, and Tee succeeds, they won't get the credit they think they deserve for making the hire.

Spot on

he would get many.

That wasn't his comment.

And I agree. He would recruit well here.

But if he struggles coaching and managing a program (which he has no experience doing) given who he is, he would be the hardest fire to make that we could hire. He would need a perfect setup and understand the Dabo approach extremely well for it to work.

Biggest gamble on the board.

Sigh, we see an update or breaking news about the search and instead of excitement and hope, it's more likely to be like:

i know what his comment was

It's still all about who the coaching staff is with Tee. He's good at the O, has the recruiting and charisma with the orange blood. The strong staff was the compensation for the lack of HC experience and time as an OC. I am fully in with both feet if it happens. Would rather have him over Les.

I like Morris with the right DC. He has always been a good back-up that has good upside. Love Brohm, but just can't see it happening, especially now. I'm sure he is skeptical of our AD who would be his future boss.

We have an AD known by the coaching fraternity to be an A hole. And he is expected to go out and hire a coach in high demand who has plenty of options. Very difficult task.
Now we’ve created a situation where we are publicly toxic. This literally could not have went any worse.

We are not going to get anyone good.

I still think the meeting with boosters where he was laser focused on stadium renovations was more damning. We all thought he was being coy, and no way he’d trot out nothing less than a home run if he was asking people to pony up that kind of money for stadium renovations.

We were wrong, and it shows that this is really what he wants to highlight on his annual review.

He needs to be fired, and whoever signed off on his dumb f@&&ing contract needs to be fired.

Who is in the know on this? Where was the money coming from for the $350 million reno? Would be nice to see a unified booster movement to threaten to withhold financial support.

I thought message boards had some dummies but most people who call into local sports radio shows probably can't tie their own shoes.

Tee Martin WANTS to be here! These other clowns down thanks to Currie and Haslam. He bleeds orange. He wants TN to be a winner. He’s the best recruiter in the nation. Hire him, give him money for an elite staff, and we’ll be back. This is so easy you’d think even those losers could see it

Basilio blog on recent events is quite good - The Tony Basilio Show

You guys like to crap on Basilio but he's been on this stuff since Dave Hart was still around. Have to understand you get the raw feed from the guy and have to filter it yourself, but its a look behind the curtain you wont get anywhere else.

We can *all* agree he has terrible web design.

I just don't see him as the biggest gamble. The biggest gamble, to me, is Pruitt. You have all the problems you stated with Tee + half the fanbase would be "out" on him from the get go.
