The Rock: Bring Lane Home

I’m speaking in general.

If you don’t want Kiffin because of an NCAA issue from eight years ago, so be it. But Pearl got the show cause not Kiffin.

Most screaming battered Vol syndrome, as you did, don’t want him because he left once.

I don't blame him for leaving. I'm reflecting on what was left in his wake and it's pretty disturbing that there was that much carnage and so many are either unaware of it or have forgotten about it. He'll need an FBI background check at the very least. Has he been through rehab yet?

I understand Kiffin committed some major indiscretions while he was here and how he left us in middle of night. But just like story of prodigal son. Father forgave him. Put it in Kiffins contract he would have to pay university if he left

If Kiffin goes to MSU and we end up with Mike Bobo, I may be burning some mattresses.

This is me if that happens . . . .

It's a no brainer. Will the ego-maniacal tandem of Currie and Haslam suck up thier foolish pride and hire the right guy?? KIffin is the right guy for the job, do the right thing Currie!!!

You’re trying too hard. If he’s good enough to work under Saban I think he passes.

Great job getting the rock started... now if you REALLY want Lane here, go get an art major or two, feed them a sandwich, and get that rock painted up proper!

First date, baby! Dress up.... again. :D

I cannot get over this thread. Are you people on some type of "memory eraser" drug?

Kiffin is one of the worst people on the planet. He is an immature, disrespectful, prick.

But... But... "he can coach!" Coach what? An offense? A QB? He was an abject FAILURE in EVERY head coaching job he's had. And it may not have been all about W/L's. Whatever conference he's in now is where he needs to STAY. He WON'T win big in the SEC. If he couldn't do it in the Pac 10.

But... But... he can recruit! Recruit what???? Tell me ONE of his recruits that didn't turn out to be a bust here?

Please. Wake the Hell up. Desperation is unbecoming of a fanbase.

I can't see Fulmer and his cabal being on board with bringing back the guy who replaced him.

A lot of the old money hated Kiffin's brash ways too.

Gotta stop thinking of these hires in terms of football X's and O's and more in terms of political backbiting, rampant cronyism, and a massive soap opera full of drama and completely lacking in any shred of common sense.

And he brings media attention, which we need to become relevant again.

Wrong attention...media would laugh at us that we were that desperate to bring him back after the way he left. People forget, it's not that he just left for his dream job, he left like a thief in the night!!!

The customers shouldn't be a problem this go.

However, Lane had USC stuff hung up at UT. Abandoned us.

Called UT the USC of the east. .

I have a lot of school pride. I feel that Lane has no respect for UT.

That's a big deal to me.

We don’t have the current resume to have this sort of pride.

4-8. 0 sec wins in a season for the first time in history.

This year undid every bit of stability that hanging with Butch had brought us. The crazy thing is when he was fired, for good reason, the job was the most attractive it has been in at least ten years. Our administration mortgaged our past ten years of hell, all of that time staying with Butch and his bricks, all of the reasonable publicity, all of our good will, on Greg Schiano. The fans weren’t having that and I don’t think the outrage is unreasonable, regardless of the reasons articulated.

The floor of this hire should’ve been much higher than Schiano. There are still a couple of guys on the hot board, who would even consider this place, who fall above Schiano. I think you’re looking at Kiffin or Miles, Petrino. Of those, Lane probably isn’t the best coach, but he will win the PR battle in kids homes.

Get the girls he sent to South Carolina "crutin"

He had Saban there to put him in time out when he crossed the line. Who will reel him in at UT? The are still better options than Lane.

Did he get in trouble at USC?

There are better options, not sure any are realistic. Doesn’t matter because I don’t believe we go after him.

Make it happen. We're gonna need a coach with some swagger and some real thick skin. Lane can take it as well as he dishes it out.

Lane Train!!!

Old money needs to understand that the 18 to 20 year old s love him and want to play for him. The people against bringing him back have no eligibility left.
