Death by Fanbase

So you believe this guy was the right choice

I don’t and I will not back anymore poor attempts to force someone that we know isn’t a good choice on us.

No more if my money will be spent on the University of Tennessee when they expect me to take a product that is no good

So sick of this attitude on here. All you 'Home-run hire' 'Gruden' and 'Chip Kelly' dumb*** ****s can go **** yourselves. GS might have been a great coach here. We aren't getting one of the four coaches that your dumb "I aint takin' no coach I got to google" *** has heard of. Youre going to have to use google to find out who he is bc u know 4 ppl and none of them have ever shown any interest in EVER coming to UT. And now our next coach is going to be lesser known than GS was, thanks to what happened. So keep patting yourselves on the back and jacking off to a list of Gruden, Manning, and hell why not Nick f'ing Saban, if "the Haslam's pay up". SMFH

Actually, I don't think it is even a good example of irony at all.

I just went through ten pages of posts (what is that, 180-200?) that sound like a paper has been distributed to each and every one of you with your talking points and you speak of regurgitation?

Everybody is pretty much saying the same things over and over, except for the slight changes in name calling, your obligatory STFU or GTFO, and a good deal of references to ball sacks and gonads.

A real ragtag bunch. And I don't even like Schiano lol.

Diego I havent resorted to that but I will still say I can find other things to spend my money on than a subpar product
And that’s what I believe we would have gotten

Again what makes you think GS would have been great here?
His ethics?
His loathing from previous players?
Or his losing record at previous coaching position?

How many watched the Florida game and was angry at the commentators because of their love affair with florida
I now don’t watch CBS programs
I also called their sports department and let them know that I won’t watch their programs
ESPN is now on my list
So I am down to radio
That’s how much I love the University of Tennessee

August Landmesser you are not.

Much closer to Josef Goebbels.

Give me a break. Vol fans have been **** on by the AD for the past decade. Not this time. Enough is enough. I hope you fall off your high horse and right on your face
yep the fans won! We showed them! Exactly what did we win again?

You are clearly delusional if you think GS would have turned UT into a winning program. The guy had a crappy record with Rutgers and an even worse one in the NFL as a head coach.

If GS was going to be a good head coach, how come nobody sought him out during his time at Ohio State? Because he’s not. Butch, love him or hate him, would have done better next year than Schiano.

Well for one I said might have been. We will never know now. 2nd, I am predicting that we are now going to get an even less known, and likely less qualified coach bc what happened. Anyway, to answer what should have been your question of why do I think he might have been a good coach. 1. He took the worst D1 team in Rutgers and got them to a few winning seasons (they have since fallen back among the worst teams). 2. During that time, he received national coach of the year 3. At OSU, he has one of the top defenses in 2016 and 2017.

Also, loathing from previous players is bogus. Youre selecting a few loud mouths that dont speak for everyone who has worked for him. Ethics? I assume you are referring to the children on the internet who have convicted a man based on a few sentences they read online, tho the law never saw enough reason to formally charge him. Dunno what ur talking about previous losing record at coaching position

You need to do a bit more research

Yeah sry to quote you directly, didnt mean to single you out. Stressful times, but I think you get what I am saying about this delusional attitude and thinking we are going to get one of these 4 listed ppl. How did you "know" that GS wouldnt have worked out here?

I havent bothered looking this up, but I am guessing he had the most successful record as a HC at Rutgers. He took the worst football program in the country to new heights and was awarded a national coach of the year in the process.

You are basing your argument on a single season. What is his record over his career there? Or the nfl?
And yes there are ethical issues beyond Sandusky
But keep banging that drum

It’s a personal thing by my watching football listening to what other people talk about for other colleges
Reading boards about football
I do some research about these things before I make hasty decisions
My choice would have been Brohm Frost hate say Kiffin the Jacksonville coach if coordinator o would have choose Kevin Steele
Now I would put in Tee
If go to d 2 Matt Houston
Also cousin played plays for Western Kentucky
Brohm was loved there
I work construction so I talk a lot with other people about college sports and have met some great fans from other teams also met some I don’t want to watch sports with also

Not a single season, he was at Rutgers for several years and had continued success (for Rutgers at least, hell better than our last 2 coaches have done here). I am not confident he would have been successful, but I think he could have been. I was willing to see it out. I also think our admin buckling to either the protests or perhaps some donors has put us in a worse position. Probably end up with a less likely to be successful HC

Regardless, it’s Rutgers. Even now they have had crappy seasons these last 3 years. That’s like trying to polish a pile of crap and calling it gold afterwards.

Butch had great seasons with the bear cats. Look at how he did in SEC play? We don’t need a Butch 2.0.

And even if the Penn State stuff doesn’t matter, GS has some shade because of it. Way before the vols ever considered him as an option. Shade impacts recruiting, performance, and overall any chance of success a program may have.

You reap what you sow.........or at least what others have sown. It really sucks knowing that we have the most delusional fanbase in college football.

I said it months ago....Chip ain't coming. Gruden ain't coming. If you make a change, make it with a coach in the bag. Fanbase demanded immediate change. The boycott. The Rock.

And since when in this country are you now considered guilty even when you've been cleared? Since Clay Travis said so? Geez people. Schiano was probably as qualified as we were going to get. What coach in their right mind would step into this cesspool, especially given ANY other option?

Freaking heartbreaking. This program was just set back another decade........if we're lucky.

The program has been set back because of the House of Haslam.
