Doesn't matter. Haslam is the target.

correct me if i'm wrong knuck, i don't think we the sheeple can do anything about haslam, can we?

currie, i do.
maybe even davenport if necessary.
haslam? i think that's on the beavers and atlanta vols and ergens of the world to tackle.

am i wrong?

Bev supported Currie in her statement. She would have signed the MOU if had the opportunity. She is an agent of Haslam and must be gone too.

Our fan base has done something no other has done before.

Boy! Makes us special huh. I can honestly say it is embarrassing to be a Vol fan right now. We as fans are not being looked at as hero's in this situation, but as a bunch of country idiots who love to stick their nose in where it doesnt belong. We try to coach, administer, hell why dont we just make out the schedule also. We don't need a coach or an AD. Just ask Volnation. They have the solution to everything.

Ain't gonna be any winners in these types of battles. Just a few side interests gain a little. UGA, UF, USCe get our recruits also

Yes there can be winners. Haslam needs to quit running the show. And the athletic department needs to be able to run their own show as long as they are in compliance it should be their show. UT has a terrible public relations department at this time, and there connection with the greatest fan base on earth is horrendous. It's time for new leadership at UT all the way around. One that is committed to the best at everything, and not committed to hiring someone they can control with a dog leash! This place has enormous potential, they just need the right people in place.

Not arguing that, I prefer they clean house, but this could be the start of Currie being cut loose also.

MOU is non binding anyway. Either party can walk away at any time for any or no reason and be free and clear.

That is not true. Depends on the terms of the MOU.
Rick Barnes MOU was a binding contract and if we had backed out it would cost us about 5 M as I understand it.

Yes, I do. It makes sense. The only play Currie has is to try to make a hire before he is fired. Its a desperate attempt, but it's all he has. I think he is done regardless, but Haslam is determined to not let other boosters have their way, to show them he still runs the show. The only other play Davenport has is to desert Haslam and join the other side. If she doesn't, she is toast.

They will probably rush and make a dumb hire. Currie could be toast at Tennessee. But, nothing will change as long as the money keeps flowing in to the University from the Haslams. Ms. Davenport will not switch allegiance from Haslam and align with other boosters. Little will change UNLESS Haslam stops donating and other boosters step up and fill the gap.

Its the national media sticking its nose where it doesn't belong.

Why should we care what anyone outside of VolNation thinks of us. They don’t care if we suck. This is for us! NO ONE ELSE!

Don’t misunderstand me, Knuck. I’m not knocking the fans and what was accomplished. Just saying it’s money that they understand. They wouldn’t have even considered Schiano if they were considering the fans opinions. They thought we would accept anything they gave us and they found out wrong, but I wholeheartedly believe it’s the lawmakers and boosters who stopped the hire, not fan opinion. Of course, it’s all tied in together, but I hope you understand what I mean.

Is Currie going to keep his job?

I don’t know but I know a lot of angry people with deep pockets want him out. The group I hangout with had a teleconference last night and all agreed we were ready to back out if GS was hired. We elected our highest ranking booster to contact the AD and tell them. All of us together is a very significant amount of money. I don’t know if we are going to pull that card again for Currie but I know we are going to talk again in the next couple of days. You have to be careful with the nuclear option. I know that several of us today have talked to reps of the AD and expressed the Currie needs to be out.

Well crap. I had no more than told my daughter (who against my strongest desires wants to go to that school in Kentucky), that she wouldn't catch me dead in Kentucky blue, and this crap happens. I will never, ever abandon the Big Orange, but crap like this does make you think about it....
