And there will be others to fight. Seems to me the board could call a meeting and end all this in short order whether Haslam liked it or not. They could align the necessary votes and drop Currie and Davenport easily if they wanted. Yeah, there would be a financial hit, but what else is new. Modify the stadium project, free up the cash, save the day.
#firecurrie
#firedavenport
#screwhaslam

could they do that with a haslam at the head of the board?

Can't believe people are still seriously asking if Gruden is in play lol. When he dies, hopefully a long time from now, will people be asking if Zombie Gruden is still in play?

Well, Mayor Ricard J. Daley died in 1976 but he still votes every damn year..........so.................Gruden!!!

Dear VN

This link Members – UT Board of Trustees outlines the members of UTs Board of Trustees.

Do any of YOU know any of them PERSONALLY??

We have had so little truth about anything regarding our search for a HC that it would be refreshing to have one or 10 un-named Trustees comment on this God-awful mess that they helped create by hiring Davenport and supporting Currie.

The BOTs, btw, have one direct report, and that is the Chancellor. However, I make a motion that the BOTs now also have FREAK report to them.

All in favor????

Ainge was defending Peyton this morning and then got confirmation he was involved. He changed his tune. The clock is ticking and Peyton's name is getting crushed. He should come out with a statement if it's untrue.

Ainge got reeled in by the AD. He's on their dime mainly, right?

PM's name isn't getting crushed. That's ridiculous

Say/Believe what you want about Beav (that's your right), but I know, firsthand, that he is a stand-up guy. He went out of his way to help me and my family;perfect strangers. If he would do that for a random person, you better believe he would go above and beyond for a place/people he cares for.

I am not saying he is not a good guy. I am saying he has no clue whats going on. You dont say weeks ago the deal is done, then this happens. The deal is not done till it's done. he does not know as much as he thought he does

If the boosters are serious about this. They need to make this divorce very public. Control the narrative of why they are pulling their money and make sure media outlets know X amount of boosters will no longer donate X amount of dollars to the university. They need to give the Admin a very public black eye. It probably wouldn't hurt to bring up certain ongoing legal battles of a prominent booster and highlight his ties to the university as well make an attempt to force the University to want to distance itself from people who threw their employees under the bus and are were under FBI investigation for Fraud and had multiple people charged for something they signed off on. Just a thought.

No choice, his ticket to NFL front office is with Haslams. Made a deal that will literally make two passionate fanbase hate him.

I don't know why Peyton did what he did, maybe he really didn't see the issue and thought it was best for UT. It's not for a Browns job though, at least I wouldn't think that. He was offered the GM job of the Colts in January and turned it down. It's not like he couldn't get a job in an NFL front office without Haslam.

Can you imagine moving your family almost halfway across the country for a job, then pissing off the entire state you work for and losing your job? All within 7 months... I'd hate to be that guy.

I would hate to be so spineless that I have to lie to people in order to do the job I was 'hired' to do. he's a pathetic POS any way you slice it.

I think Atlanta Vol verified Beavers story. Gruden was in talks, it was happening. Then Haslam had Currie hire Schiano. It makes zero sense to a sane person, but given Atlanta’s frustration, it seems to be what happened. Nothing makes sense. Most of all hiring Schiano. There are many many more competent choices.

I understand, I would like to know if AV was in that skybox that night. If he was, obviously something else was talked about. If he wasn't that could have been a rally meeting for a few boosters and Peyton to get behind Schiano.

if its proven that PM was in fact supporting hiring Schiano, he will be dead to many many Vols fans.
