First of all Tee has orchestrated one of fhe top 25 offenses in the country at USC and almost every major category.

Secondly, our administration just tried to trot out GS. This job is not what some people imagine it to be right now. We are coming off Dooley and Jones and people would have a problem with Martin who is a successful coordinator?

Tee would recruit extremely well. If he can surround himself with a great staff he could be very successful. I am sure he would have Fulmer around as a mentor
Let’s not kid ourselves, we’ll have some significant growing pains with Tee. But that’s a given at this point, and if we can snag him and the fan base and admin treat him well, he could go down as the greatest vol ever when it’s all said and done.

104.5 in nashville has been good. They have been railing Currie, Haslems, and the Admin. Says Phil has to be part of sales pitch going forward.

Dan Wetzel about to be on. Tool.

My general thought on any coaching search and selection regardless of school or situation.

It is always a gamble with lots of risk. Taking a proven HC at a smaller school is just as much a gamble as a Cord from a big school with no HC experience.

Yes, one might be more of a gamble, but neither are sure bets either way. For every Meyer and Satan, there are 100s of failures.

At this point we need someone who seems to have a upside so if the gamble pays off then we are set. So I am not for Cut or Les or anyone else that is near retirement.

I don't buy this. He'll need help, sure, but if anyone knows the pressure of Tennessee, it's the guy who won a National championship as the starting QB. We'll need to bring Randy Sanders in, and Fulmer may have to step up and take on a bigger role, but this can work.

I'm a big believer in the saying "you make your own luck." No one is going to work harder to bring Tennessee back than Tee and no one will be able to recruit better.

Randy Sanders? Seriously? As OC? How we so quickly forget how glad we were when he left.

I love Tee, but i think Brohm is the better hire for today... Tee can be the next guy but i really think he needs to be a HC somewhere first to learn how it's done. I'm worried the roughness of this place could kill his career before it even takes off.

LA Rams just fired a dude who has all the experience you could ever want in the NFL. Jeff Fisher. 20+ seasons as head coach.

Replaced him with a kid with zero years of experience as a head coach and three seasons as an OC. That kid is currently 8-3 and leading the NFC West.

No to Jeremy Pruitt. I'm sick and tired of getting excited over Nick Saban table scraps. NO. We need a Tennessee person. Plain and simple. Enough is enough.

Stop with the nostalgia. Tee aint ready y’all. He’s only been a coordinator for 2 years and he’s running Heltons offense. He hasn’t even proven he’s a great coordinator yet. Tee needs to get his feet wet at a smaller program. If we hire him too soon he’ll end up like the last 3 coaches we hired. If we’re lucky enough to get Brohm we better hire him. I think this guy could have us competing in a few years. He’s a proven offensive mind and a proven head coach. His record is good and he believes in himself. I think he would do ok here.

I know a guy who put his life savings into the lottery and won. Does that mean everyone should copy his strategy?

I know I would not want to fire Tee in 5 years if we haven't made it to Atlanta. That would suck.

How long has Tee been an OC like three years at Southern Cal? I remember when he turned Butch down several years back to be on staff and fans considered him an enemy of the state. Tee had said he was comfortable at USC and his wife was pursuing a singing career. What's going to change now when he's coming to a team that just completed the worst season in school history and a slowly fading recruiting class? Tee needs to hone his craft...because this job is too much for him IMO.

Booger, Des and Stephen A Smith (we all know the A stands for) are always critical of UT. Always. 100% of the time. Herbstreit is usually supportive of UT, but has gotten frustrated with the never-ending ineptitude. And Sexton is like Finebaum-- alums who aren't friends of UT. Once you know the bias, you can filter out the BS.

See Sean Mcvay. Dabo Sweeny, Phillip Fulmer, jimbo Fisher, David Shaw, Chris Peterson.

HC experience is so overrated.

Almost all those guys worked under extremely successful HC before becoming a HC themselves. Guys like Bowden, Majors, Harbaugh. And Petersen went to Boise, not straight to a P5 school.
