I wish Ergen gave a sh*t about this. He could crush these fools in eleven minutes and have things straightened out. Put your tens of billions of dollars towards something good, Ergen!

It’s bad but we can’t be doom and gloom about it. There’s absolutely no reason to be.

Yesterday showed that when we unite we are the most powerful fan base in the country. Like ATL Vol said, if it comes down to us not buying tickets anymore than so be it but this is a battle we can win. Sucks that it has to come to this but it’s time for the people of Tennessee to take back what is ours.

I still think that another VolTwitter movement against the Haslams would do the trick.

Do what trick? Force them to move out of Knoxville with their tails tucked between their legs? They'll laugh off anything on Twitter and the fans will lose interest in any "movement" within a day when it's clear nothing is going to happen.

And there is no one to step up and ask them to do anything, let alone force them.

That's the biggest point people need to realize. There's no one out there to check them on this stuff. No one. Ergen doesn't care. There are no other boosters in the same realm, money wise, as him or the Haslams themselves. We are stuck with them because they have the full support of the academic side and many in the athletics side.

The whole situation is like a boss fight in a video game.

The boss will keep spawning minions (Currie), and you can keep killing them, but unless you kill the boss (Haslams), the fight will go on forever.

Bring in Tee and let Whitten come in and coach as well. You talk about slaying it with recruiting.

Whitten said he would come back and coach. He’s at the end of his career now. Come home and coach at the place you love.

We don’t need to consult former players for who they’d hire. We need to consult David Blackburn. A guy who has actually hired good coaches.

Peyton Manning just helped bring us a **** storm. I don’t wanna hear what Swain or JRM want.

You witnessed proof yesterday.

Haslam isn't going anywhere.

UT won't be relevant til he does

I'm not so sure the Haslam's understand the power of a fan base. The amount of people that go to games will dwindle to extreme lows and then it will be his money that will have to buy the program out of despair and keep it afloat. The fan base is obviously done. Keep going, Mr. Haslam. There are other teams we can root for.

We have to hire somebody. And that somebody is going to want a big buyout unless that somebody doesn’t currently have a job or good job prospects (e.g. Fulmer, Hoke).

You pay big money and give favorable terms to highly desirable candidates. It's stupid to pay big money and give a big buyout to a coach we wouldn't normally offer. We did it with Dooley and we did it with Butch, neither of whom would have gotten a sniff if the UTAD wasn't panicked and desperate to make an immediate hire. Fooled once, fooled twice-- it would be really stupid to get fooled thrice.

Why would anyone want to go to UT for a business degree when the it has the Haslam's names on it and they are clearly one of the worst business families out there?

So what do you think is realistic then?

This. Players rarely make good coaches and even more rarely make good ADs. Hire a professional.

I 100% disagree. The idea is that it will rally the other boosters to get the nerve to stand up against them. To stop letting them walk all over the university unchecked. Yesterday showed me what this fan base is capable of when we make our voices heard.

Sure the national media is butthurt that we stopped Schiano from coming here but can you imagine how miserable we would all be if Schiano was officially the head coach. I was sick to my stomach yesterday at the thought. This is a battle we can win. We outnumber them and at the end of the day they are beholden to the all mighty dollar. The fans are the biggest booster. Not the Haslams. The one time we finally stood up against them we beat them. Who’s to say we can’t do it again?
