I think people are looking for blood. They want him to come out and say Halsam forced this hire on Currie and Currie simply did what he was told. They think because he doesn't say the name "Haslam" he's carrying the water.

He said it in those responses though. Hubbs was vocal about it being a bad hire even days ago before we made It.

Some on this board just don’t want to believe Hubbs for some reason. He’s the best there is and it’s by a mile.

I thought Schiano was a fake candidate Hubbs was given by the UTAD. That’s the only thing that made sense. So I doubted it to be true. Didn’t doubt Hubbs info but questioned the motives behind it. Should’ve known better. Hubbs knew. Brought up Schiano two months ago and never stopped. He knew who had this candidate and that’s why he said “I can’t take him off the list.”

That is not what I think, nor what I said.

I didn't want Hubbs to say anything except that Currie made a massive mistake trying to hire a mediocre-to-bad coach with numerous character flaws and red flags against the advice of basically everyone in his department.

Instead, we got: "Oh, he has a bad rep, but I'm sure he's changed. Not a bad coach either."

So has anyone heard what our next step is or are we going to have to wait until people quit playing grab ass in the AD?

Frost hasn't been hired, Campbell is still sitting there, Taggart, Leach, and others that are real coaches... Are we going to make a move or just roll over and go after someone like Pruitt who was never even a consideration? We still should have a lot of money to throw and strangely enough, if Currie wants to have some shot at keeping his job, he should be smart enough to know that if he pulls one of the names I listed, he may weather the storm and be somewhat forgiven after time passes... If he tries for another dip-'ish, then he gon.

Give me the cash and a jet and I'll have us a coach by the afternoon. It may cost some money but it's going to take some money to get out of this.

Impressive enough an NFL team hired him

Understand. They wished they had not after he blew them up with 11-21 and a roster revolt. TB is not know for making the greatest decisions on hires and players other than that period with Dungy and Gruden.

If Schiano is the best thing since sliced bread who were the other schools clambering for his services?

Then if what Tennessee fans did was so wrong when is one of these enlightened schools going to snag him up?

Exactly. Was out of coaching for a couple of years after the TB debacle. Supposedly was offered the Oregon job last year? Not buying it. Sexton throwing his weight around.

Andy Staples hinted that the faux outrage yesterday was partially because of Sexton's influence.

Will not happen. This may take weeks, and maybe that isn't a bad thing.

Why could it take weeks? UCLA got theirs in 2 days. You have a focus of 2 maybe 3 people and you burn the tires and go into negotiations. You run the risk of these other programs getting the best available if you wait weeks.

When was Hubbs vocal about it being a bad hire?
