Hey, guess what? **** you Dan. We dont have to just sit back and accept whatever **** this AD spoon feeds us. Schiano is a despicable human being and he doesn't deserve to coach our team. Yeah, this is OUR team too. Tennessee as a whole stood up for what was right today and if that damages the brand a little, so be it. So do the last 20 years of gross mismanagement by literally every higher up at the school. Go **** yourself you irrelevant piece of ****.

Tennessee is always getting screwed with timing and opportunities

1. Kiffin left right before NSD. Had to grab Dooley quick

2. Dooley fired... cannot land top targets... got Butch

3. Butch fired... have months to think this through, and hit an absolute firestorm.

Once again, we are completely screwed unless we get ridiculously lucky. Chances are though, we are 5 years away from another rebuild.

I just cannot believe they’ve let it come to this again, with every coach available for an offer

I am so embarrassed. I am a proud Tennessean, a graduate of UT, from a family full of UT graduates. I bleed orange, and to see the people in charge continually, repeatedly screw up our university has completely devastated me. I cannot believe they ever let it get to this point.

I'm definitely good with Cutcliffe getting the job if it comes to that. But at this point I would rather hand the keys to Tee and let him grow into this role. We are in uncharted waters and need somebody to steady the ship. We're gonna take some lumps either way most likely. But Tee is a better recruiter and will keep the cupboard stocked. He will also go for the jugular when he gets the chance like he did as our QB.

Bring him home.

If it doesn't work out it doesn't work out. But at least it would be fun and he can keep us stocked with good players.

I'm all aboard thIs train.

The other sneaky hire that could really benefit us now and in the long run is to just go hire Lane Kiffin. He wants this job and would likely embrace every ounce of the crazy in our fanbase, unlike some other candidates. He could make amends and swoop in and save the day all at once. He's not ever going back to USC now. The dream job is gone. He's basically been grooming for a 2nd shot at this job.

Not sure our administration could serve this up to the fan base tho after today. That would take some marbles.

These guys acting like we haven’t filled our 102,000 seat stadium for the last decade while we were 62-63.

Like we didn’t overlook abysmal recruiting and godawful in-game coaching from Dooley for two or more years.

Like we didn’t just wait patiently for 3 years while Butch tried to fix that mess and then overlook our most talented team in 10 years being two miracles away from 6-6 and got ready to support him again this year.

If anything, Tennessee fans are eternal optimists. It’s why they refuse to stop believing in Gruden. It’s every September the media is wrong about Florida and it’s going to be great when we beat them to prove it.

Did we hurt our brand with coaches today? Yeah, probably. But it’s mostly because we’ve got a bunch of know-nothing national media hacks saying we did.

All it takes is one coach to see the beauty of this job. All of us can see it. We're right there. You win here and they name important streets after you.

They cannot hire Kiffin and risk a similar backlash for clearly non-immoral reasons. 0% chance of this... maybe less... which I guess would mean Kiffin pays us to stay away

Honestly there was about a 2-3 hour window of time today that I thought Tennessee football had died. I almost threw up. My head was spinning with news that I couldn't accept as true. Was I going to even care anymore? Was I going to walk away from this fandom I've carried with me all these years? I heavily considered that. I know most of us here likely did. Screw John Currie for that feeling. We should have never been put in that position today.

But then all of a sudden this fanbase stood up and fought for it to come back to life. They fought like hell. They banded together and fought like no collection of college football fans ever have. We should have had power to stop this today but somehow we did. I don't care what anybody says. Vol fans stopped this garbage in its tracks.

Nobody understands fully what it's like to be us. What we've endured. Not just the losses or the coaching changes. But the day to day letdowns and signs that this wasn't a school that cares about winning. All the while, we care SO MUCH! Our Vols have slipped from their rightful place at the top slowly and consistently, day by day for years and years. Until it hit the bottom Saturday night. We were here for all of it. We took our lumps and waited patiently for the day that we could shove it back in their faces. We would remind everyone about where Tennessee belongs. We held out hope that that day was coming. It was supposed to be today.

Instead, our school did what they have proven to always do, which is to cave to the outsiders opinions that tell us we are average. We should expect no better than average. We should just accept it. We should be grateful for it even. Because it could always be worse.

But no. We had hit rock bottom. We just hit it! And they trot out this dip**** to be our next coach? Hell naw. We didn't wait all year for that.

You not only hire an average coach. You hire an average coach with a built in disadvantage that every other coach in the best conference in America was going to use against us in recruiting? You bring a piece of one of the most disgusting scandals in college football in my lifetime right to our doorstep? You bring that to Knoxville? And that's supposed to be okay? That hire was program suicide and we all knew it. It was not just a mediocre hire. That's where the national media misses it. This is what they think of our program. We are just supposed to be grateful for our asshat coach. Because we are an asshat program to them. Nope. Greg Schiano would have buried this program. They knew it. We knew it. The difference is, that's what they wanted to see happen. But we actually care about this place.

We were too smart for the bull**** today. I could not be more proud of what transpired. We saved something great. We saved Tennessee mfin Volunteer football today. We won't go quietly. We won't be bullied by the media or another bully coach who is gonna use us to build up goodwill to the public for a few years until he fizzled out and this program was left alone again to pick up the pieces. Nah. We just had a coach like that. We already read that book.

We remember what this job can be. They remember what we did yesterday and last year. That's who we are to them. That's who we should continue to be. They're wrong.

It may not be next season but we will prove it to them again someday. Today signified hope. That tiny sparkle of an idea of shoving that **** right back into their pompous faces. Because of today, we get to keep that for a little while longer.

It's gonna happen someday and it's gonna be glorious. The fact that I can still hold on makes me incredibly grateful.

Go big orange forever

Volnation: “If they could hire Mullen, they could rule the East.

Schiano: “We would stop him!”

Volnation: “Who is this person who speaks to me as though I needed his advice?”

Currie: “I have declared Greg our head football coach.”

Volnation: “Is he qualified?”

Schiano: “I am skilled in the arts of football and cover-up tactics, sire.”

Volnation: “Are you? Then tell me... what advice, would you offer... on the present situation!”

Schiano: “<Screams>”, thud

Currie: <runs to window, aghast>

I just want a coach with some big old nuts man. I know it probably won't happen. But if it did I think we would benefit from it.

I tried to imagine another team, and the closest I could get was passively cheering for Frost at Nebraska... a team that paralleled Tennessee, but finally got their moment

I’m definitely team Tee at this point. Throw the bank at him, bring him home, and let’s curvle up the bandwagons and do this s*** the Tennessee way.

Either that or kick Currie’s wothless a** to the curb, make Fulmer or Blackburn AD like we should’ve to begin with, put an Interim HC in place (doesn’t have to be Hoke) and give our guy a year to make a hire.

Oh son...

Danny wants to give a sweeping judgment on the motivations of this fanbase and essentially say we are moral low grounders?

I have no sympathy for what’s coming next for him

What's interesting is that he posted this in his twitter feed:
"Schiano and Tennessee will mix like oil and water. Oh boy." He said that it wouldn't be a good fit and then trashes us for saying it's not a good fit. Got to love them ESPN personalities.

Tee isn't honestly all we can probably get now. Currie put us in this predicament, in which the fans had to take control to kill the deal. Now, we appear as toxic, and lots of coaches will turn away.
