What do you do? Make Fulmer interim AD and beg Blackburn to come.

Get him to rally the VFLs and assemble a staff around somebody? Who though? None of the names still available will touch this for all the money in the world. Maybe Tee along with Steele and some other VFLs.

One thing is clear, Currie will not be making the UT HFC hire.

Nebraska may grab Scott Frost. If he isn’t going there, throw the bank at him and hope he overlooks our incompetence.

We should win a bidding war with Nebraska. I'm guessing UF preferred Mullen today over Frost next Sunday, but he didn't turn them down for Nebraska. JMO of course.

Is there any way in your opinion we can get Phil, Blackburn, or Charles Davis as our AD quickly? I don't think Currie will survive this and we definitely can't let him make this hire.

We could fire Currie without cause and have Fulmer step in as acting AD right away. He's already on board and athletics is within his purview. We could bring in Blackburn or Davis, figure out the structure and roll. It's possible Currie will want out and will hold us up for money, too. Sexton will play hardball on the MOU. UT is going to take an unprecedented hit for this-- financially, in the media and in recruiting.

Wasn't Currie's best friend Sexton's second in command? It was always going to be one of his, in retrospect.

Fox Sports guys on radio (houston kress and friends) saying multiple sources telling them that Currie actually signed Schiano weeks ago and essentially had to backout/fire him today and owe him $20mil.

Are you serious??? No way this can be real. If this is true, the entire administration needs to be fired on the Hill. Clean house of everyone!! How do you hire a DC as your first choice 2 weeks ago with a $20 million buyout??!! Please tell me this is all a bad nightmare. Please tell me this is where somehow Currie comes in, looks like a hero, and announces Gruden tomorrow!

Please give me 2 reasons why Venables would be a horrible hire.

1. Not a HC. Any of three could end up good but we are absolutely not in that position. Being a great coordinator doesn't equate to being a great HC.
2. See reason 1 again.

I don't know if we can win any bidding war if we have to pay Schiano.

I don't think any coach without UT ties will want the job. It'll spook prospective coaches because they just realized the administration can be bullied by the fanbase if it wants something. Would Matt Campbell want to risk his career if he has a bad first year or two?

I'm absolutely, unequivocally proud that our fanbase stood our ground morally and did not allow this to happen. But it will scare a lot of people away - and remember, there's a reason this search got down to Schiano anyway.

Fire Currie. He's a pompous dick head and my guess is he won't want to stay anyway.

Allow Fulmer to run the search. Do everything to get Cut and Tee here.

Fair point and plausible. We will see. I would love to have Frost but I feel like everything points to him at Nebraska.

Where are all the insiders at? Where’s LWS, babyvol, Atlanta and all them? No one has anything to say tonight? Can’t wait to ignore everything from everyone moving forward.

Hopefully this mess will force somebody competent to take the wheel at UT, and force those that have been driving into the backseat.

:) Nope - it ran by so fast it was hard to read and they cut off the right side as they were bringing another one on. But LA Vol was clearly seen.

That means they read the RF. I don't post in the FF. I'd better self-censor. Thanks for warning me!

Financially on the MOU, and Currie's buyout?
