People jumping off theMullin train yet ?

All I’m asking is for y’all to google the wins losses of his past 9 seasons at miss state. I did and it’s too much to post but you will see he has quite a few losses to teams out of conference but that’s not the shocker. The shocker is how many close “big time game” losses he has. Some will say he played those big teams well for keeping it close. I look at it and say he’s not a good closer of big time games. Sounds a little like Butch Jones to me.

You're the typical Volunteer fan that makes the fan base collectively look dumb as hell

No, that's you. You want to carry water for guys who have losing records in games that really county, be my guest. But don't think for a minute that you're supporting anything remotely intelligent or have a basis for telling others they are on a lesser plane than you.

Quick, name one, one, real accomplishment by Dan Mullen and, don't give me the "it's really hard to win at MSU" crap. He isn't winning and it's been going on for nearly ten years.

And, you have the balls to tell people they are dumb for realizing this plainly obvious fact? Amazing.

Shouldn’t be, nothing has changed;

One week he’s scaring Bama, the next week he’s getting his ass handed to him by a under-manned, interim coach led, arch rival with a losing record AT HOME.

Meet Dan Mullen, Mr Wildly Inconsistent.
I'm for Gruden but Mullen would do great. He played tonight without his qb who got hurt in 1st qtr and had 5 turnovers and still almost won. Pretty good if I say so myself

i do think that Mullen would do well here, but why would he leave his secure job ?

I forget who said it ,what would his 4 mil dollar paying job buy him at MSU ? anything he wants :)

Yup. And those one games add up to... A losing SEC record.

This game isn't going to change anyone's opinion. No one thinks Mullen is a great coach. They just don't think we are a great football program any more.

He is a great coach. Period.

I have to agree with this. If he comes to Tennessee and has an average of 8 wins like he does at miss state he’s toast and he knows it. If he stays at miss state and maintains the 8 win average, he’s a king in Starkville. I also Think this sways other bigger name hires away from Tennessee unless they have an urge to rebuild a program and we make them a huge offer. This is why I’m on the frost team. I think we could get him for 5 mil seeing that he only makes a little over a mil now.

U guys do realize that Miss St had 150 more yards of total offense, had 15 minute advantage in time of possession yet had 5 turnovers...coaches don't turn the ball over. That's on the players. Anyone who doesn't think Mullen is a good coach just doesn't understand football. For all the star gazers, Miss has had higher rated recruiting classes the last several years, so to say Miss St got beat by a less talented team is just wrong.

Now wait a minute. We fumbled all those times against A&M last year and I defended Butch over and over because the 1000 post thread said the turnovers were on the coaches.

MSU was favored by more than two touchdowns. Mullen just got beat by instate rivals by an interim HC. No more excuses. We're done with those in Knoxville.

The difference is that Jones couldn’t beat anybody with 4 and 5 star players (his player development was awful), with great resources (second most profitable football program in the country last year, $70mm) while playing in an awful SECe division.....vs Mullen who was battling the big boys with 2 and 3 star players (his player development has been very good), at the 2nd worst SEC program, with virtually no resources (not in the top 20 in profits, less than $28mm) while playing in the most difficult division in college football.

Would Mullen be a homerun hire for us? No idea, I have my doubts. But given his track record both as Florida's OC and Miss State’s HC, I think there’s little to no doubt that he’d do much better at Tennessee than Sgt Carter did....there’s zero doubt in my mind.

but they lost ! sound like Butch Jones " if those players would execute"

And without 5 turnovers by the players, they probably win by 2 tds. Not every loss is always on the coaches. That's what a lot of our fan base doesn't seem to understand. Mullen put his team in position to win. The players didn't hold up their end
